Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Autumn Ellison. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Autumn, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my Grandmother, my entire life I watched her work a job with long hours and still be the matriarch of my family. She showed me discipline, balance, and true strength. Now as an adult and business owner I try to embody those characteristics. Especially when running my business, I pride myself on my work ethic being a person of my word, following through, and on time. That’s how I always thought of my grandmother as a woman of her word, if she said she would do something you could be sure that she would do it.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Autumn Ellison and I am Founder and CEO of So.Fvshionable. So.Fvshionable is a next generation fashion retailer innovating the shopping experience with occasions. We recently launched our summer campaign “Seize The Summer” encouraging people to intentionally live in the moment this summer by attending more occasions, doing things they enjoy, and spending time with the ones they love.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that have been most impactful for my journey are my commitment, consistency, and willingness. Whatever you are going after whether it is a business, school, or a job you have to be committed to making it happen. Consistency always beats talent, you can have all the talent in the world, but if you’re not consistent then it will not matter. You have to have the willingness to do what others will not do to make your dreams come true. Having these qualities do not come overnight, but are built over time with every day intentionally.
