Meet Avis LaVonne S.

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Avis LaVonne S. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Avis LaVonne, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Developing confidence and self-esteem, particularly after being told you wouldn’t succeed, is a significant and inspiring to my journey. I took the time to understand and accept my strengths and weaknesses. Instead of letting negative comments define me, I used them as a catalyst for self-improvement. I consciously replaced negative self-talk with positive affirmations. This helped shift my mindset from self-doubt to self-belief. I sought out mentors, friends, and family who believed in me and encouraged me. Their support provided a safety net and a source of motivation. I remained resilient and persistent in the face of challenges, understanding that perseverance is key to overcoming obstacles and proving doubters wrong.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’ve always had a passion for fashion, embracing an eclectic style that reflects my unique taste. Recently, I’ve elevated my brand by focusing on designing hats, making them the centerpiece of my collections. Alongside this, I continue to create distinctive jewelry, blending these elements to offer a complete and cohesive fashion experience.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Adaptability and Learning Agility
2. Advice for Development
3. Communication Skills

For those early in their journey, focus on these areas through practical experiences, continuous learning, and seeking mentorship or feedback. Embrace opportunities that challenge you and push you out of your comfort zone, as these will be the most valuable in developing these key skills and qualities.

How would you describe your ideal client?

Their needs and desires align perfectly with what my services offers and understand I design out of the “box”.

They have the financial means to afford my services without significant hesitation or negotiation, understanding the value provided.

They communicate clearly and effectively, providing necessary information, feedback, and collaboration when needed.

They are enthusiastic advocates of the business, recommending it to others and helping to expand its reach and reputation through positive word-of-mouth.
