Meet Axel Pa

We were lucky to catch up with Axel Pa recently and have shared our conversation below.

Axel, so happy to have you with us today. You are such a creative person, but have you ever had any sort of creativity block along the way? If so, can you talk to us about how you overcame or beat it?

I was in my living room, scrolling through social media and watching endless videos, when it suddenly hit me: I should be drawing, making my own videos, growing my social media. But I wasn’t doing any of that. So I did what most of us do when we feel guilty… nothing.

I had an excuse for everything: I was tired, uninspired, there was always a reason not to do it. But I was curious at the same time. I wondered, is there any technique to overcome this?

So I searched, read, and tried a bunch of different techniques. Nothing seemed to work for me. I felt lost, until one day, without even looking for it, it came: a technique that was completely different from everything I had tried before. I was skeptical. How could this possibly work? It was the opposite of everything I had been reading. But I tried it anyway, and it worked.

The technique I used is this: If you need to create, work, paint (whatever you want, you name it) and you’re not doing it, follow these steps.

First… do nothing. You read that right: do absolutely nothing. Don’t grab your phone, don’t sleep, don’t distract yourself. Just lie there and do nothing at all for 10 minutes.

When I tried this, I was so bored I didn’t even make it to 5 minutes before I started doing what I was supposed to.

The brain is always looking for stimulation. You’ll want to check your phone or do anything to keep it occupied. But if you don’t feed that distraction, you’ll end up doing what you need to do.

It worked wonders for me. I’ve been more productive and creative since that day, I hope this works for you too.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

At “XY Estudios”, I help you communicate with your potential clients through publicity, social media design, and graphic design. I’ve collaborated with medium and large companies around the world, including Sony Music, Warner Music, Flor de Caña Rum, and many more… Do you feel like your brand doesn’t connect with your audience? Maybe you launch a promotion and no one buys, not even your kids know what your company does. I’ll help you overcome this.

On the side, I run a project called Caps Frens. If you’re an artist, you’ll hear from me.

Caps Frens supports artists with positive ideas and creative techniques to overcome stress, creative blocks, procrastination, and other evil artist’s feelings. We also help brands create unique mascots for their products.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

After many years of experience and failing over and over again, I’ve come to believe in three essential qualities you need in life. These values have been incredibly impactful and helped me become a winner in multiple design competitions like Envato and Adobe Express, and even led to my work being displayed in Times Square, New York.

I believe in these 3 qualities, you need to be consistent, patient, and friendly. Why?

Consistency will take you to places you never imagined. It will make you better, help you grow, and move you closer to achieving anything you want in life.

Patience will carry you through the dark moments the days you want to give up or can’t even get out of bed and eat 10 burritos without carrying about the diet.

Friendliness matters because you can’t do this alone. You need support, community, people who lift you up, whether that’s family, friends, or followers. Take care of them, and they’ll take you higher and higher.

For me, these three qualities are the true markers of success.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

For years I’ve wanted to be a guy who can talk about anything, to create an impactful moment in the life of others, but I didn’t know hoe to express myself, until I read “Stories Sell by Matthew Dicks”.

I really recommend this book, it will help you tell your story, boost your sales and be more self aware of your own life.

10/10
