We recently connected with Ayana Eason and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ayana, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
In my journey with A.Beautiful Flwr, I’ve faced my share of doubters and negativity, especially when I first started. Moving to a new city and starting a floral business was risky, and not everyone understood or supported my vision. But I knew that this journey was bigger than just a business—it was a reflection of my own growth, resilience, and the desire to “give myself flowers” by living a life that felt meaningful and fulfilling.
To persist despite the naysayers, I focused on my purpose and stayed true to my values. I reminded myself why I started: to create beauty, inspire others, and build a brand with no limits. Every time I received a positive message from a client or saw someone’s reaction to a bouquet, it reaffirmed that what I was doing mattered. I also surrounded myself with people who believed in me, which made it easier to ignore the negativity and keep moving forward.
If you’re facing doubters, my advice is to keep your purpose at the forefront and let your passion guide you. The people who are meant to support and appreciate your work will find you, and their encouragement will outshine the critics.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Thank you for the opportunity to share more about A.Beautiful Flwr! We’re passionate about creating unique, customized floral arrangements that go beyond just beauty—they tell a story, convey emotions, and celebrate moments that matter. Starting this business was deeply personal for me, inspired by a life-changing experience that shifted my perspective and led me to appreciate life and “give myself flowers.” That sentiment became the foundation of A.Beautiful Flwr, where my goal is to bring that same sense of appreciation and celebration to others.
Our services range from custom bouquets and sympathy arrangements to event décor and floral workshops. What excites me most about this journey is the chance to innovate and inspire. I’m driven to make A.Beautiful Flwr a brand without limits, always evolving to create memorable experiences through flowers. Whether it’s a “Boss Babe” bouquet for a strong, confident individual or a soft, elegant arrangement for a heartfelt occasion, each piece is crafted with love and care.
As we grow, I’m looking forward to more collaborations, expanding our event offerings, and hosting community-driven floral events (across Dallas and surrounding areas) in Dallas.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey with A.Beautiful Flwr, there are three qualities and skills that have been essential to our growth and success: resilience, creativity, and networking.
1. Resilience – Starting a business, especially in a new city, comes with its challenges. Resilience has helped me push through tough times and stay focused on my goals, even when things felt uncertain. My advice to others is to embrace the setbacks as learning experiences and keep moving forward. Remind yourself why you started and hold onto that passion as a source of strength.
2. Creativity – A huge part of my work is about creating floral arrangements that are unique and meaningful. I believe creativity is something you can nurture by exploring new techniques, drawing inspiration from everyday life, and staying open to feedback. For those just starting, I recommend experimenting without fear of mistakes. The more you create, the more you’ll hone your artistic voice. Creativity is really like a muscle—the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets.
3. Networking – Building a community around my brand was crucial, especially in a new city like Dallas. Networking helped me connect with clients, collaborators, and other entrepreneurs who inspired and supported me. For anyone just beginning, don’t hesitate to put yourself out there—whether through social media, local events, or industry meetups. Building genuine connections can open doors you never expected.
Each of these areas has been a building block for A.Beautiful Flwr and has shaped not just my business but also my personal growth. If you’re early in your journey, invest in these skills, trust the process, and stay true to your vision.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes! We are always excited to collaborate with others who share a passion for creativity, community, and making an impact. I would love to connect with event planners, photographers, influencers and local artists or businesses that align with A.Beautiful Flwr’s vision of bringing people together through beauty and storytelling. Collaborating on events, photoshoots, or workshops is a great way to showcase how florals can elevate any experience.
