Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ayden Nguyen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ayden, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I developed my confidence by truly believing in myself and not allowing thoughts of self doubt. I remind myself that I put a lot of work and sweat and tears into my training and building my skill set and I could do anything I put my mind to if I just put in the time and the effort to achieve each goal and bring out confidence in myself.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Im a young Professional dancer that has been dancing for about 7 years now. I’ve done cool jobs like commercials and music videos to traveling the world to take class and teach as well. I live in a city where dance is not big so i do like teaching and motivating others that want to pursue dancing in their future. I find joy in helping people and also learning from people. In my opinion it makes a difference to help people get on the right track and chase their dreams.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The best advice I could give to dancers just beginning their journey is to take advice from people who have experienced the ups and downs of the industry and use that advice efficiently. If someone is giving you advice you should take it and process it and apply it to your own situation. The knowledge and experience that they share with you can make a huge difference and be willing to put in the effort to make changes and improve your outcomes.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
I’m only 14 so traveling and paying for things is going to be a struggle if I didn’t have my mom. My mom knew I could dance ever since I was 5. When she saw the opportunities and the jobs i could get she sacrificed everything for me. She quit her job for me so I could travel places and take on jobs. She also knew I loved dancing and always believed in me at my lowest. She gave me the energy to get back on my feet and I knew I could always rely on her.
