Hi B, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

Generosity comes from a deep love for the community. Dowagiac has played a big role in shaping who I am, and giving back feels like a natural way to show appreciation. Whether it’s featuring local businesses or sharing helpful insights, supporting the community just makes sense. When one part of the community thrives, everyone benefits, and that belief is at the heart of everything I do.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

www.DowagiacHomesForSale.com started as a fun personal project my wife and I took on together. While searching for a home in Dowagiac, we started jotting down notes—our favorite restaurants, wedding venues, hidden gems, seasonal tips, and more. At first, these notes were just for us, but when we shared them with friends and family, we realized how much people appreciated them and wanted more.

What began as a personal collection has grown into a valuable resource for anyone looking to explore or reconnect with Dowagiac and Sister Lakes, Michigan. From seasonal guides to local business spotlights, the blog is all about celebrating the community—not about us. We don’t charge for features or listings; it’s simply a passion project created to highlight what makes this area so special.

Today, the website continues to grow, helping locals, visitors, and potential residents discover all the charm and opportunities Dowagiac has to offer. It’s more than just a blog—it’s a celebration of everything that makes Dowagiac extraordinary.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Curiosity has been at the core of everything we do. Exploring local businesses, events, and learning more about the area has allowed us to connect with the community in a meaningful way. Staying curious has helped uncover the best that Dowagiac and Sister Lakes have to offer.

Building relationships within the community has been incredibly rewarding. Listening to what matters most to people—whether it’s local schools, service providers, lakefront living, or the best taco spots—has shaped the blog’s content in ways we never expected. These relationships have helped us create something truly valuable for the community.

Growth through connection has been a driving force behind the blog’s success. Taking feedback and connecting with local businesses and people making a difference in Dowagiac has strengthened the blog and deepened our connection with the community. It’s inspiring to see how much can be accomplished when people work together.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

The ideal feature isn’t a “client” in the traditional sense—it’s a local business, nonprofit, or individual making a meaningful impact in or around Dowagiac. We love featuring businesses and initiatives that are rooted in the community and have a story to share.
