Meet Bakari Stout

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bakari Stout. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with BAKARI below.

BAKARI, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I Feel As Though I Always Somewhat Knew
My Purpose From The Beginning.

But I Haven’t Always Run Towards It.

Adolescence Teaches Us Resilience
Through Struggle & Chances Of Success.

I Made My Growth, My Way Of Life
& In Doing So, Found My Purpose.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

My Brand & What I Do Is Constantly Evolving But I’d Say Right Now It Is Compromised Of Three Imperative Things. My Physical Art or Creation & The Act Of Transformation. An Innate Drive Or Push To Out Do Myself & A Reflection Of The Macrocosm/ Microcosms That Make Up My Life Everyday. Utilizing A Arsenal With These Tools. Has Given Me A Unique Vision Into My Own Means & Future Professionally & Personally. “D.I.Y. TILL I DIE” Is A Phrase Which To Me Means To Do What You Can Yourself At Every Step Till The Option Of Self Work Is No Longer Feasible. It Makes This Journey Much Easier Because You Know You Are Always Giving It Your All. I Apply This To All My Passions In Life , Art, Music, Film, Fashion, Even Labor & Desk Work. My Brand PYRAMIDION Is Growing New Merch On The Way & My Music & Roles in Film & Filmmaking Are Reaching New Eyes & Ears All the Time It Encourages Me To Do More & Better..

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

INTEGRITY, WISDOM, & RESILIENCE
Are By Far My Top 3 Traits For Myself As Well As Others Looking For Guidance Yet Lacking The Tools To Suffice. Integrity To Maintain; Integrity To Remember Who You Are Despite The World Outside Of Your Body. Wisdom To Grow; Wisdom To Take Knowledge & Apply It & In Doing So Giving Your Knowledge Purpose. & Resilience To Weather Any Storm; Resilience To Give Your Shall We Say Metaphorical House A Roof & Cladding.
It Takes Time To Improve These Things But It Results In A Better State Of Living & Being In Good Times & Bad. You Will Always Look forward If You Have These Skills Because They Fuel One Another Too. Shutting Out Outside Influence Loving Yourself Can Build Integrity Standing On What You Believe Can Breed Integrity. Learning From Someone Or Something & Being So Proficient In Your Understanding Of Nuance. That You can Teach Others Is How You Build Wisdom. & Sticking To Your Merits & Beliefs Specifically When Others, The World Of Even Your Own Self Fights Against You; This Is How You Build Resilience.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

My Biggest Area Of Growth This Year Comes From A Place Of Branching Out Of Experiences I Never Expected To Have Nor, Would I Wish Anyone To Have. I Used To Take So Much For Granted. I Also Used To Believe Certain Things Could Never Happen To Me. But Life & The Universe Are Good At Showing You That We As Humans Know Nothing. So This Year I Experienced Tons Trauma & Hurt My Father Passed Away In My Arms. I Literally Remember Feeling Him Leave This Plane Of Existence. Injurys From My Day Job & A Car Accident In The Same Weak Troubles With Lateness & Communication Pushing My Brother Towards His Goal While Institutions blatantly Use Underhanded Methods Being Open To Romance In A Changing & Sometimes Hostile Dating Landscape & Being Out Off Work For Months Waiting On results From Insurance & Attempting Not To Starve. Plenty Other Things That Occurred This Year All Brought Me to My Knees Metaphorically & Literally. But Because I Was Blessed With A Sense Of Wisdom To See The Silver Lining. I Was Able To Tell Myself I will Get Through it I’ve Seen Lows & Highs. I Was Able To Tell Myself To appreciate My Lows Because They Are The Valleys Of my Highs Which Are The Mountains I Aim To Climb Remembering Not To Pity Myself But To Give Myself Grace & Time. & Never Forgetting to Get Back Eventually Even If It isn’t Right Now Get Up Someday There Is Work To Be Done No Matter What It Is There Is Work To Be Done
