Meet Bao Su

We recently connected with Bao Su and have shared our conversation below.

Bao, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

A lot of my resilience comes from my kids. Being strong for them has always been mission-critical for me. But it also comes from a choice I make every day — to keep building, to keep learning, and to turn struggles into fuel. That combination keeps me moving forward.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I create luxury, bespoke stage jewelry designed specifically for athletes in the bodybuilding and fitness industry. What excites me most is that Body Bling isn’t just about jewelry—it’s about elevating presence. These are curated, high-end pieces that complete a competitor’s stage look, giving them the confidence to shine under the lights.

What makes Body Bling special is the intentionality. I collaborate closely with top suit designers and athletes so that every set is not only beautiful but also tailored to enhance their individuality and performance. It’s not about mass production; it’s about creating pieces that feel as unique as the person wearing them.

We’re growing in new directions—launching curated collections, experimenting with bold rhinestone finishes, and expanding collaborations with designers across the industry. Body Bling has become more than accessories; it’s a trusted partner for athletes and a movement centered on excellence, confidence, and empowerment.

What I’d love readers to know is that Body Bling is built on passion and detail. Every piece is crafted with the same dedication competitors bring to their training—it’s jewelry designed for champions.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three Qualities/Skills That Shaped My Journey
1. Resilience & Adaptability – The ability to keep going when things got tough and to adjust when the original plan didn’t work out. In business, there will always be challenges—setbacks with production, timelines, or even self-doubt. What carried me through was refusing to stop, while also being flexible enough to pivot.
Advice: Don’t be afraid of setbacks. See them as lessons, not failures. The faster you adapt, the stronger your foundation becomes.
2. Attention to Detail – My brand lives in the details. From the way stones are placed to how a set complements an athlete’s suit, the little things add up to excellence. Competitors put everything into their prep, so I hold myself to that same standard.
Advice: Whatever your craft is, master the small things. Train your eye and your patience—excellence shows up in the details.
3. Building Relationships & Trust – Body Bling grew because of genuine connections with athletes and designers. I didn’t just want to sell jewelry; I wanted to be a trusted partner in someone’s moment to shine. Relationships are what turned my brand into a community.
Advice: Invest in people, not just transactions. Show up consistently, communicate with integrity, and treat every client like they matter—because they do.

Final Thought
For anyone just starting, remember this: success is never built overnight. Pour into your vision daily, sharpen your skills, and hold yourself accountable to your own standard of excellence. Growth comes when passion meets consistency.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

The most impactful source of strength and growth has been my children. They’ve been my constant reminder of why giving up was never an option. Every challenge I’ve faced became an opportunity to show them what resilience, integrity, and perseverance look like in real time. In many ways, they shaped me into the businesswoman I am, because I wanted to build a legacy they could be proud of.

Beyond that, I’ve been deeply supported by the athletes and designers I collaborate with. They’ve trusted me to play a part in their biggest moments on stage, and that trust pushed me to keep refining my craft and raising my standards. Their feedback, their wins, and even their challenges have helped me sharpen not only my jewelry but also my own discipline and vision.

What I’ve learned is that success doesn’t come from doing it alone—it’s built on relationships, accountability, and the people who inspire you to rise higher.
