Meet Barbara Caraballo

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Barbara Caraballo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Barbara, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

By doing The Work.

And that is an evolving journey guided by introspection, exploration, and meaningful action. This understanding comes after years of inner work, practice being present, training in various natural and social sciences fields, serving diverse communities, and experiencing how therapeutic literature can be!

My purpose got clearer after reflecting on what brings me joy—helping others find perspective, build structures, and navigate the complexities of keeping a business while creating meaningful change. I recognized my drive to transform ideas into actionable strategies while fostering authentic connections.

Building genuine connections has been the key, though. Collaborating with clients and teams has deepened my understanding of purpose by allowing me to see how my work impacts lives and businesses.

I learned to focus on initiatives synchronized with my values, assuring my efforts remain impactful and sustainable. Our purpose is fluid. It is a living process shaped by action, reflection, and the people we meet along the way. It also shifts based on the energy required in a given situation and a particular timeline. We get to choose.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m an operator at heart. When I’m not browsing books at a new (or known) bookshop, I run The How Finder, where we help business experts, authors, and speakers find their ‘how’ and improve how they operate in this lifetime.

We focus on creating a compass for operational strategy, book launches, business development, and consulting. And I offer tailored services such as strategic planning workshops, operational audits, and one-on-one coaching sessions. I’m currently developing a series of immersive workshops designed to empower entrepreneurs with the tools and frameworks they need to build resilient and sustainable businesses for the new golden era.

What excites me most about all of these offers is facilitating clarity from the chaotic state our clients usually experience before working with us. This work is deeply personal because real success comes from harmonizing values and purpose with strategy, plus a simple, clear, and effective plan.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

We live in a time when knowing is not enough; we must know how. Awareness, curiosity, resourcefulness, and collaboration are key qualities I consider essential to mastering what we’re going through collectively. They help us gain clarity, connect, and do business. It’s the commerce of life.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

Although I have an unstoppable drive, I believe challenges can be managed from a state of centeredness and relaxation.

In addition to my core work in ops leadership, consulting, and book launches with Monaco Associates [monaco-associates.com], these days, I’m dedicating time to teaching technologically-challenged humans of all ages and backgrounds how to have patience with ‘The Machine’ by facilitating workshops around how to communicate with AI and all Large Language Models to create ease in life and business. It’s a challenge I enjoy!
