We were lucky to catch up with Becca LaMar recently and have shared our conversation below.
Becca, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
When I started Heylo Creative, I also knew that I needed to make some changes personally. I invested in my personal development and it not only changed how I show up in my business, but also in my life. As business owners we have a choice on how we can train our minds to think in either scarcity or abundance. Learning to trust that everything happens for us as a learning experience to gather information and makes changes to better serve our clients is what keeps me optimistic every day.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hey everyone! I’m Becca LaMar, founder and owner of Heylo Creative. At Heylo, our main focus in helping businesses feel more confident in showing up online through a visual identity that they are proud of, and that speaks to their ideal clients. Primary we deliver logo suites, color systems, websites + landing pages, printed and digital assets – and so much more! We love meeting each of our clients at whatever stage of business they are in – either just starting out or niching down an established business. Our lifestyle clients include boutique restaurants, coaches, skincare, service providers, and so much more.
We are excited to continue diversifying our offers to be able to support new businesses who feel overwhelmed about getting started. For this reason, we created a virtual workshop that we will be hosting for the second time at the end of October. This is perfect for businesses 0-2 years in business who aren’t in a place to invest in custom branding, yet know that what they’re doing isn’t working. In the workshop we work through three phases of branding; Strategy, Visual, Implementation. It isn’t just about building a nice color palette, but instead creating visuals that strategically speak to your audience (that we help clarify in the strategy portion!) If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Again, the personal development and positive mindset had a HUGE impact when first starting out. Starting out as an entrepreneur can be terrifying and exhausting, and being able to focus on the BIG goal(s) has been majorly impactful.
2. Support. Finding a community, coach, friend, or family member that sees your potential and buys into the dream is crucial. Without it, I don’t think I’d be where I am today.
3. Continued Education. I constantly am seeking to learn either by attending workshops, masterminds, reading books, and connecting with others in my industry. Never stop learning!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Through this past year we have started partnering with other entrepreneurs and teams to help them support their communities ever more. We’ve done this by creating customized Canva templates that helps support what someone is teaching. For example, for a brand coach we created a one-page media kit, pitch deck presentation, email signature, and inquiry tracker to be able to offer to their mastermind as a bundle, or individually. This helps the brand coach by being able to support her community even more!
We host a private landing page for their audience to shop their customized templates, and offer an affiliate fee for doing so. If you’d like to learn about this process, please email hello@heylocreative.
