We recently connected with Bella Matasic and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Bella, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I was 18 when I made one of the craziest decisions of my life.
Skydiving alone with just two days’ notice.
But that was nothing compared to quitting my internship, which felt like death.
Not even joking.
It felt like shutting the door on my entire future with no way back.
Everyone thought I was insane.
They told me so to my face.
But here’s the brutal truth about risk:
If you don’t take it, you’re building someone else’s dream instead of your own.
You’ll stay stuck in the same box, never growing, never changing.
The biggest risks in my life: skydiving, quitting my job, posting myself online—
taught me something most people never learn.
Risk isn’t about being reckless.
It’s about betting on yourself when no one else will.
When I assess risk, I ask one simple question: “What decision will make me respect myself?”
Not what others think, not what’s safe.
What will make me proud when I look in the mirror?
Because most decisions are wrapped in fear.
And fear keeps you small.
So I don’t give myself time to overthink.
For skydiving, I booked Tuesday and jumped Thursday.
For pitching businesses, I set non-negotiable deadlines.
No time for fear to creep in.
The scariest risks have given me the best stories.
Always start with what terrifies you most—it’s usually what you need to do most.
Don’t bet on yourself.
That’s what everyone says.
Instead, bet on your story.
The one you’ll tell when you’ve made it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My business isn’t just another marketing agency.
We’re building something that’s going to change how small businesses compete in today’s market.
Yes, we do the usual stuff—
Websites, copywriting, SEO, content strategy.
But that’s not what gets me out of bed in the morning.
What we’re launching next month is different.
It’s an AI tool that lets business owners stop being slaves to their marketing.
Imagine entering your promotion or topic once.
Having an entire campaign built and scheduled automatically.
Across all your platforms.
While everyone else is spending hours creating content.
Our clients are focusing on what really matters—
Growing their business.
It’s a hands-off marketing system that finally gives time back to business owners.
We’re accepting beta testers right now.
Especially for medical spa owners who want to be first in line for this revolution.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The harsh reality no one told me when I started?
If you can’t sell, you can’t be in business.
Period.
Sales and marketing aren’t optional skills—
They’re survival skills.
There’s a reason salespeople get paid based on results.
They bring in the revenue that keeps everything else running.
But sales skills alone won’t save you.
You need perseverance that borders on stubbornness. The kind that keeps you going when everyone else quits.
And here’s the counterintuitive part I only recently discovered:
You need detachment.
Wanting something too badly creates emotional blindness.
You need to separate feelings from actions.
Put on your boots and keep climbing without constantly looking at how far you have to go.
Think of your journey as a literal mountain.
Don’t waste energy staring at the peak.
Just focus on the next step.
Then the next.
The more you stop to look up, the longer it takes to reach the top.
Just keep fricking climbing.
How would you describe your ideal client?
I don’t believe in solo success.
The truth is, I can only know so much, and you can only know so much.
But together? That’s when magic happens.
Right now,
I’m specifically looking to connect with med spa owners.
Ready to implement our beta AI system as case studies.
I’m also searching for content creators.
To help grow their personal brands through high-impact social media.
What I bring to the table:
Three years of website development.
Systems for using AI to make businesses run smoother.
Video editing skills and direct outreach systems that connect with high-net-worth individuals.
I’ve worked with everything from clothing lines to sports gear to Airbnbs.
If you’re a business owner who wants more clients without more work—
Someone who refuses to get left behind in the AI revolution.
DM me now.
The old ways of marketing are dying.
The question is: will your business evolve or get left behind?
