We recently connected with Bella Shih and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Bella, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
In today’s rapidly evolving world, it is crucial to be flexible and resilient. Ups and downs are part of life, and they can challenge our ability to remain steadfast. However, resilience comes from internal strength and power that allows us to keep moving forward, even when we encounter setbacks.
I learned to be resilient by reflecting on my experiences and identifying ways to develop my internal strength. One key approach was to become my own best friend. I found it helpful to spend time with myself and listen to my inner voice, which allowed me to encourage myself when things didn’t go as planned.
Another valuable approach was to focus on the positives. It’s all too easy to give up when we don’t achieve the success we think we should. But there are many paths to success, and sometimes things that don’t work out can lead to unexpected benefits in the future. It’s essential to maintain a positive outlook and focus on what we have learned and achieved along the way.
Everything happens for a reason, and every action we take has an impact. Sometimes things that don’t work out may actually lead to unexpected benefits in the future. Therefore, it is important to focus on what you have learned and achieved along the way and maintain a positive outlook!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I specialize in 2D motion graphics and have a deep-seated love for crafting illustrations. My goal as a motion designer is to aid clients in effectively conveying their messages through thoughtful design and dynamic motion. By delving into clients’ needs and asking insightful questions, I serve as a visual interpreter, bringing abstract concepts to life through imagery.
Beyond motion design, I’m drawn to the world of illustration, finding it to be a channel for self-expression and a means to convey emotions and ideas with boundless creativity.
With a background in video editing complementing my expertise, I pride myself on being a versatile and multidimensional artist. I thrive on adapting to various projects and connecting with clients with diverse needs. For me, building strong and open lines of communication is the bedrock of fruitful collaboration.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I may still be in the process of learning and improving my skills, but I’ve realized that there are three skills that could make a huge impact in the professional world.
Firstly, clear and thoughtful communication is vital to efficient collaboration. Most of the work in a professional setting is completed through collaboration, so knowing how to communicate effectively with others is crucial for making the collaboration more efficient. This is a skill that is often overlooked in schools, but it is vital in the professional world. Good communication skills can make projects run smoothly and help handle different kinds of conversations and meetings with ease.
Secondly, presentation skills are also important. As a designer, it’s essential to focus on honing your craft and creating high-quality work, but it’s equally important to be able to present your ideas and concepts clearly to your audience. This can be a challenge, especially for introverted individuals, but it’s a skill that can be learned through practice.
Lastly, being versatile and able to learn quickly is an important skill in today’s fast-paced world. There are always new tools and software being introduced, and being able to quickly identify the best tools for the job and use them efficiently is crucial for staying ahead of the curve.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I love working with different people and creating that magical chemistry together. I believe every artist has their own unique perspective and talent that can bring so much life to a project, and honestly, that’s the most enjoyable part of collaborating with people. So, if you’re also creative and looking for a collaboration partner for your project, feel free to hit me up via email. I’m always excited to work with new people!
