Meet Ben Riffe

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ben Riffe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ben below.

Ben, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

Constantly pushing myself to achieve what I’m after artistically. Never settling

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a tattoo artist at Red Tree Tattoo and Art Gallery. Ohio’s largest private tattoo studio.
I’ve been a tattoo artist for 17yrs. I specialize in American Traditional as well as Neo-Traditional. I love bold color work, but also enjoy black’n grey.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Taking the advice of the ones that were here before me.
Constantly learning new techniques to improve my art.
Learning from my mistakes and applying that to future projects.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My favorite deal client is someone who has an idea of what they want, but lets me take their idea and use my artistic abilities to transform their idea into a beautiful piece of art that they’re happy to wear for a lifetime.
