Ben, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
What a great question! To be totally transparent I am not 100% sure where it comes from- obviously a fair amount of optimism is in my nature, and I have amazing parents that raised me to be optimistic. They taught me confidence and gave me the courage to get outside of my comfort zone and try things, which provided amazing opportunities as well as experiences.
Beyond that, I genuinely believe that our perceptions become our realities- when we look at things optimistically the outcome tends to be positive. I also believe that an optimistic outlook attracts positive situations. Generally speaking, things work out! So why not be optimistic! I also believe that there is no such thing as failure- you either succeed or you learn- either way it’s a win!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Ascent Digital is entering it’s 3rd year in business- I feel like we are hitting our stride! We are offering better than ever work for our clients, honing our craft, and dialing in our deliverables. We are forging amazing relationships with clients and making huge impacts on the businesses we work with! We believe that Givers Gain, and by growing our clients businesses our business is in turn growing.
The Chasing Greatness podcast is starting to get great traction, I am releasing 1 episode per week and thoroughly enjoying the process! The opportunity to sit and speak with people that inspire me is something I am so grateful for, I am learning a ton through the conversations and growing my audience as well as my guests audience at the same time. I hope I am making a positive impact in the world and spreading valuable information for everyone!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Resiliency- I honestly believe one of the biggest contributors to my success is simply not quitting. Life is hard. Business is hard. Continuing to show up and do the work day in and day out sets you apart in huge ways. If you simply don’t quit, odds are incredibly high that you will succeed!
Empathy- My ability to connect with others has been incredibly impactful to my success, I believe the way we make people feel matters. The world is desperate for genuine and authentic connections, allowing myself to be vulnerable and authentic while having empathy for others is allowing myself to connect with people in meaningful ways- these relationships are not only valuable on a personal level, but have positively impacted business as well!
Work Ethic- There is an overwhelming amount of mediocrity now days, I seriously believe if someone wants to stand out from the pack it is easier than ever! You just have to be willing to put in the work and be willing to have delayed gratification. Put in the work now, reap the rewards tomorrow.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
We love working with clients at a full funnel capacity- meaning if we can handle, or at least influence, the majority of their marketing we find that we do our best work and provide the best results for our clients. A huge contributor to this is the fact that we have an in house video production department, we are finding that high quality video assets are making all of the difference in the world! We then use those high quality video assets in both their marketing and advertising.
