Meet Ben Tran

We recently connected with Ben Tran and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

For me, finding my purpose wasn’t about chasing success or figuring out what I wanted to do, it was listening to God’s voice and surrendering to His plan. Growing up, I always loved music, but it wasn’t until I truly leaned into my faith that I realized music was more than just a passion; it was a calling.

There were moments when I doubted myself, wondering if I was on the right path, but every time I prayed sought God, He confirmed it in ways I couldn’t ignore. Whether it was through Scripture, through people He placed in my life, or even in quiet moments of worship. I kept hearing the same message; “Use the gifts I’ve given you to glorify Me.”

And that changed everything, My purpose isn’t just about making music, it’s about creating something that moves people, that brings light into dark places, that points back to Christ. It’s about serving, teaching, and helping others experience God’s love through music.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a musician, songwriter and worship leader, and my passion is creating music that moves people, whether that’s through worship songs that draw hearts closer to God. Music has always been a huge part of my life, but what makes it special to me is how it connects us, how a song can bring peace, healing, or even just the reminder that we’re not alone.

Right now, I’m working on a Christian EP centered on the theme of being renewed in praise. This project is really close to my heart because it’s about surrendering, finding new strength in worship, and experiencing the transformation that happens when we fix our eyes on God.

At the heart of everything I do, my goal is to create something meaningful, music that inspires, encourages, and ultimately points back to something greater than myself. Whether it’s through songwriting, or just sharing life with people, I want to bring light into the world through the gift God has given me.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three key things have been the most impactful in my journey: faith, humility, and a heart for learning. Each of these has shaped me not just as a musician, but as a person striving to use my gifts for something greater than myself.

Faith – More than anything, my relationship with God has been the foundation of everything I do. There have been moments of doubt and uncertainty, but every time I surrendered my plans and trusted Him, He opened doors I never could have imagined. My advice would be to stay rooted in prayer, seek God first, and let Him lead your path. Purpose isn’t something we create, it’s something we step into when we walk with Him.

Humility – One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that I don’t have to have all the answers or be the best at everything. There’s power in being willing to serve, to listen, and to grow. Humility has allowed me to work with incredible people. learned from those ahead of me, and stay open to God’s direction. My advice would be to be wiling to start small, and never lose sight of why you do what you do.

A Heart for Learning – Whether it’s improving my craft, collaborating with others, or just being open to new experiences, having a teachable spirit has been huge. Music, like faith, is a lifelong journey, and the more I learn, the more I realize how much there is still to discover. My advice would be to stay curious, surround yourself with people who challenge and inspire you, and never stop growing.

At the end of the day, success isn’t just about talent, it’s about character, calling and consistency.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support, wisdom, and encouragement of my family and mentors. They have been instrumental in helping me overcome challenges, develop my skills, and stay focused on my goals.

My family has always been there for me, providing unwavering support in everything I do. The’ve encouraged me to stay determined, even when the road seemed uncertain, and have always believed in my potential. Their guidance has been a steady reminder of the importance of hard work, persistence, and staying grounded in what matters most.

In addition to my family, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have had several mentors who’ve helped shape my journey. Whether it was a music mentor teaching me technical skills, or someone in the industry offering valuable insight, each person has contributed to my growth. Their advice, experience, and willingness to share their knowledge have been crucial in helping me navigate the ups and downs of my path.
