We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Benjamin Behrooz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Benjamin, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I’ve always been more soft-spoken by nature. Early in my career, and even before that, I was shy about speaking up. It wasn’t because I didn’t have ideas, but because I wasn’t sure if people wanted to hear them. But over time, I realized something important: I could convey information, and when I spoke with honesty and intention, people listened.
That realization changed everything for me. Confidence didn’t come from trying to be louder, it came from being clear, prepared, and authentic. I started focusing less on how I sounded and more on what I was saying. That shift helped me find my voice not just in conversations, but in leadership.
Building brands pushed me to lead from the front. I had to share ideas, make decisions, and represent my team. The more I embraced those moments, the more I grew into them. Confidence, for me, was built step by step, by showing up, staying honest, and trusting that my perspective had value, even if it wasn’t the loudest in the room.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Branding Los Angeles, we’re focused on helping businesses grow with strategy, clarity, and authenticity. We work across industries, from healthcare and hospitality to tech and lifestyle, providing branding, digital marketing, and PR services that are tailored to each client’s goals and audience.
What makes us different is that we approach every project with a long-term mindset. We’re not just trying to make things look good, we’re here to help businesses tell their story, connect with people, and create impact that lasts. We’re proud to work with both emerging brands and established companies that want to evolve in a meaningful way.
We took that same commitment and applied it to our branding franchise, blending storytelling and strategy with deep cultural respect. That brand was born out of our belief that marketing should never compromise identity. Instead, it should celebrate it.
Whether we’re launching a new business, managing a brand transformation, or building a social strategy from scratch, our goal is the same: create something real, intentional, and built to grow.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Strategic Thinking
In business, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day. One of the most important skills I’ve developed is stepping back to see the bigger picture, asking not just “what” are we doing, but “why” and “where is it taking us?”
2. Adaptability
The landscape changes fast, especially in digital marketing. Being able to pivot, experiment, and respond without losing sight of the brand vision has kept us relevant and growing.
3. Leadership Through Service
Success isn’t just about making good decisions, it’s about building a team and culture where people can thrive. I’ve learned that leadership is about listening, supporting, and creating space for others to do great work.
For anyone early in their journey. Be curious, stay humble, and don’t be afraid to fail forward. Experience is the best teacher, but only if you’re willing to learn from it.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
Our ideal client is a business that wants long-term, not just chasing trends or short-term wins, but building something with lasting value. They’re not just looking for clicks or quick campaigns; they want to offer something meaningful to the world. And that’s where we come in, we help shape that voice.
At Branding Los Angeles, we partner with clients who understand that strategy and storytelling go hand in hand. They care about their audience, their message, and the impact they want to make. Whether they’re a startup or an established brand, the common thread is purpose. They’re clear on what they stand for and ready to invest in branding that reflects it.
We don’t just market, we build trust, clarity, and presence. So if a business has a vision, values, and the drive to create long-term impact, we’re the right team to bring that to life.
