Bernadette, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
The discovery of my purpose unfolded as I journaled my thoughts and documented strategies to pursue my career goals, bringing joy to me as I saw them emerge from my efforts. Engaging in this introspective process, I began recognizing my innate ability to assist others and provide effective strategies when sought for advice. Truthfully, I enjoy helping others and making a difference. As a result, I became passionate about actively contributing to the betterment of others and taking steps that could have a significant impact on their lives.

As the owner of Gateway Healthcare Solutions, a healthcare finance firm, Bernadette Albury is not only a healthcare consultant. She is also a guiding force for physicians, clinicians, outpatient clinics, and hospitals. Her expertise extends to strategies and mechanisms for recapturing lost revenue, paving the way for profitability. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey as a healthcare leader, the three critical aspects that stand out are an extensive clinical background, collaboration with the Medical Director of HealthPlans and utilization management. In addition, expertise in denial management, contract management, and managed care. My proficiency is rooted in a combination of these qualities, which allow me to navigate the healthcare industry’s complexities effectively and with insight.
