Meet Beth Laverick

We were lucky to catch up with Beth Laverick recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Beth with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My father. He was also an entrepreneur and worked tirelessly. He was passionate about his company and growing his company. He valued his clients and team but managed to make all of the important family outings.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I own B Scene Events & Staffing. I have been in business since 2014. I have a passion for events and have loved building different events over the years. I love working with different organizations and have a niche for family-friendly festivals.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Passion for building events 2. Connecting with others 3. Perseverance

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

I would spend it with my family. As a small business owner, you work very long hours and can never truly “clock out.” While it is rewarding, it can be highly stressful and exhausting. I love being able to create my own schedule, but it is challenging to be present at times.

If I had a decade left to live, I would hire a full-time employee and really scale down the hours to focus on my four kids ages 6 to 16.

At the end of the day, family is most important. I would also be sure to catch up with all my close friends. I am lucky to be surrounded by truly amazing friends who feel more like family.
