Meet Beverly Robinson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Beverly Robinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Beverly below.

Beverly, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from growing up in a home with a parent that had mental health issues and being in the foster care system. My mother’s mental health issues brought about my siblings, and I being separated from one another and our mother.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the CEO and founder of the Good Girl Project, Inc. We are a social enterprise that impacts the lives of young girls and women in our communities through mentoring, coaching, beauty and fashion. We champion the causes of human trafficking, domestic violence, and child welfare.
I am a survivor of domestic violence, and I am very passionate about using my voice and influence to help others overcome the trauma and emotional barriers that they have faced due to their experiences that have led them to believe that they have no worth.
The Good Girl Project believes that every young girl and woman have a beautiful Good Girl inside them that is waiting to be expressed!
I believe that it is my life’s work to empower and uplift others to be the best version of themselves.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are emotional intelligence, compassion, and accountability. I believe that we can all work improving our emotional intelligence by being self-aware. It is important to develop empathy and compassion by have a deeper relationship with GOD. GOD has been the source in teaching me how to serve others and doing with a compassionate and sincerity.
Accountability is essential as we grow and live in our communities with others. It is important to be accountable to someone. I have made it a point to have relationships with people that hold me accountable for my personal and professional decisions. Most importantly, I allow GOD to hold me accountable for my actions by looking to the Word of GOD as my guide for daily living.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The Bible has played an important role in my development as a woman, business owner, and leader. For anyone who wants to walk in wisdom, the Book of Proverbs has powerful instruction and insight on how to conduct one’s life.
The Word of GOD has helped me to become a more compassionate servant leader and has corrected me many, many times when I was going astray in my decisions and actions.
I love the book of Esther because has helped me understand the importance of self-care and even equipped me with insight on fragrances and other beauty enhancements.
