Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bianca. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Bianca, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from many places, but at the root of it is my father, Professor Robert Rugimbana. His life, his values, and the way he moved through the world taught me that strength isn’t loud, it’s steady. It’s in how you rise, how you rebuild, and how you choose to keep going even when no one is watching. He showed me that excellence is earned, character is tested, and resilience is something you cultivate, not inherit.
Most of us believe that having a plan and executing it, is the hardest part. But the truth is, that’s the easy part.
Anyone can create a vision. Anyone can follow a roadmap when everything goes right. Real resilience is built in the moments where everything goes wrong. It’s built in the delays, the disappointments, the unexpected turns, and the seasons where you’re forced to stretch beyond what you thought you could handle.
I’ve always said that every setback I’ve faced has shaped me. Every closed door, every “no,” every failure that felt like a dead end and those were all just redirections. For me, this is also God’s way of moving me into alignment with something bigger and better. My father always believed that purpose isn’t found in perfection, it’s found in perseverance, and that belief is what continues to carry me forward.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the Founder and Principal of BMRPR, a global communications consultancy that I launched in 2016.
What began as a boutique PR firm has evolved into a strategic partner for creatives, founders, athletes, artists, and purpose-driven brands navigating growth, visibility, and legacy, in the areas of brand development and strategy, marketing, strategic partnerships and public relations.
At its core, my work is about alignment, helping people and brands tell their stories with intention, while ensuring that visibility actually leads to opportunity, impact, and long-term sustainability. I don’t believe in publicity for publicity’s sake. Every campaign, partnership, and media moment is rooted in strategy and a deep understanding of the industries my clients operate in — from entertainment and sports to wellness and social impact.
What I find most exciting about my work is the ability to operate globally while remaining deeply personal. BMRPR works across the U.S, Australia, and parts of Africa, yet every client relationship is hands-on and tailored. I’m often brought in not just as a publicist (in which I’m not a huge fan of that title), but as a strategic advisor, helping clients shape their narratives, secure brand partnerships, prepare for major launches, and position themselves for the next chapter of their careers.
In recent years, BMRPR has expanded beyond traditional PR into integrated brand partnerships, event strategy, and long-form storytelling across media, books, and film. I’ve had the privilege of supporting high-profile talent, founders, and advocates, while also working with emerging voices who are building something truly special. That balance between scale and substance is something I’m very intentional about.
Looking ahead, I’m focused on expanding BMRPR’s global footprint, developing educational offerings, digital products and masterclasses for creatives and founders, and continuing to build platforms that center purpose and legacy. Ultimately, my brand, and my work, is about creating space for people to be seen fully and positioned powerfully, not just for today, but for what they’re building long term.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Understanding how to think beyond the immediate moment or opportunity, seeing the bigger picture and positioning people and brands intentionally has been essential. Equally important has been building genuine relationships rooted in trust and integrity, not transactions. Lastly, resilience has carried me through the inevitable challenges of entrepreneurship, the industry and different personalities, while allowing me to keep evolving.
For anyone early on in their journey, my advice is to invest in your craft, lead with authenticity, and be patient with the process. Learn the business side of what you love, become a student of your craft (aiming to perfect it!), surround yourself with people who challenge and support you, and understand that consistency over time is what creates real, lasting success. When you become a student of your craft, you attract opportunity and money effortlessly, and that’s the goal.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
A book that has played an important role in my development is Atomic Habits by James Clear. My Dad shared it with me back in 2019, and a few of the most impactful takeaways are:
Small, consistent actions compound over time: Sustainable growth doesn’t come from big, dramatic changes, but from showing up consistently and improving just 1% each day.
Systems matter more than goals: Goals set direction, but it’s the daily habits and systems you build that actually create long-term success.
Identity drives behavior: Lasting change happens when your habits align with who you believe you are, not just what you want to achieve.
For me, this book reinforces the idea that discipline, consistency, and intentional daily choices are what quietly shape sustainable success, both personally and professionally.
