We recently connected with Bianca Pitman and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Bianca , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I’ve learned that building confidence and self-esteem is a journey, and I’m still actively working on it. I think once my perspective on confidence changed it’s become easier to embody confidence. Mel Robbin’s said it best — “Confidence has less to do with “feeling” confident and more to do with being willing to try new things even when I feel uncertain. She says that Imposter syndrome often comes up when we’re stepping into something new, and I’ve learned to see that as a sign of growth rather than a weakness.
Growing up, I realized I never really liked being a beginner at something. If I wasn’t good at it right away, I didn’t want to try. Over time, I realized that everyone starts at zero, and confidence comes from being willing to try, fail, learn, and keep going. Taking risks and betting on myself—despite fear—has been crucial in building my self-esteem.
Daily practices have also been key. I use affirmations, intentional self-talk, and visualization to align with the person I want to become. I remove myself from spaces that make me feel small and actively choose environments and people that uplift me. Over time, these practices have helped me trust myself, honor my worth, and step more fully into my power.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the founder of Be You Beauty, a holistic feminine wellness brand rooted in womb healing and sacred self-care. My journey into this work began with my own struggles with PCOS. For many years, I lived without a regular menstrual cycle and was told that I was “infertile.” I carried the weight of believing and accepting I might never become a mother. As a fertility doula, I thought my purpose was to help other women conceive, even if motherhood wasn’t meant for me.
After years of trying western medicine, I chose to take a more natural path in 2018 and turned to holistic alternatives such as yoni steaming. I created a proprietary herbal blend that brought my cycle back in as little as four days. To my surprise and joy, I later conceived my miracle son in 2023 which has been a living reminder that our wombs hold infinite power and possibility. That experience reshaped my calling: to guide women in seeing their wombs not only as sites of struggle, but as sacred centers of creativity, intuition, and deep healing.
Through Be You Beauty, I offer products like yoni oils, washes, and herbal steams, but more than that, I create spaces for women to feel seen and supported. I’ve expanded into workshops, womb wellness guides, and my podcast, Coochie Conversations, where I hold open and honest discussions about feminine health and empowerment.
Right now, I’m especially excited about the ways my work is growing. Our products are now on shelves in local health food stores, I’m hosting more wellness pop-ups in the community, and I’m creating digital resources to help other women launch their own wellness businesses. And this fall, I will be opening The WellNest Suite in New Jersey, September 2025—a dedicated wellness space where women can experience yoni steaming, womb healing, and holistic beauty services in community.
Everything I create—whether it’s a product, a guide, or a gathering—is rooted in the belief that women are whole, worthy, and powerful.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey were self-advocacy, herbal knowledge, and trusting my intuition.
First, having the courage to advocate for myself was essential. As Black women, we are often not seen or heard in medical spaces. We’re taught not to question doctors because “they’re the professionals,” but I believe that’s flawed thinking. If I hadn’t advocated for myself, I would have spent my life on birth control and likely would never have conceived. No one knows your body better than you, and when you do work with medical professionals, it should feel like a partnership—not a dictatorship.
Second, my knowledge of herbs was a gift. Since I was already creating natural products, it felt natural to go deeper into plant medicine. Exploring herbs and holistic remedies opened the door to yoni steaming, which ultimately transformed my own womb health and helped me return to balance.
Finally, trusting myself and my intuition was the most impactful quality of all. There were so many moments when my gut told me to move in a different direction, and following that inner wisdom made all the difference.
My advice for anyone early in their journey is this: advocate for yourself boldly, stay curious and keep learning, and never underestimate the power of your own intuition.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Two books that have played a pivotal role in my development are Think and Grow Rich and The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. These books profoundly shaped how I understand the mind and the role it plays in creating our reality. They taught me that our outer world is simply a reflection of our inner thoughts. If we don’t like what we see in our lives, it’s a signal to “change the channel” within our own minds.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve taken from these books is that there’s never a reason to see yourself as a victim of your circumstances. We are the authors of our own stories, and when we intentionally align our thoughts, beliefs, and focus, we can manifest the life we desire. Understanding the power of the mind has been transformative in both my personal growth and my work guiding others.
