We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Billy Economou. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Billy below.
Hi Billy, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I owe much of that credit to my parents. As Greek immigrants, they arrived in North America with nothing but the shirts on their backs. Through their hard work and perseverance, they built a successful business, raised a family, and left behind a lasting legacy. Furthermore, a strong work ethic naturally develops when you are passionate about your work and the people around you
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
It all began with my passion for photography, capturing stories through my own lens. Witnessing the joy it brought people by preserving their cherished memories only deepened my enthusiasm. During this time, I found myself naturally drawn towards video, which presented an exciting opportunity for me to acquire new skills.
In 2017, as video was gaining popularity, I envisioned creating a one-stop shop for both photography and videography. My goal was to provide clients with a seamless and cohesive experience from start to finish. This vision led me to bring together a team of talented and like-minded individuals to establish our brand.
Throughout this journey, I’ve discovered that the process itself is the most rewarding part. Daily interactions with my team and our collective dedication to a common goal have injected new excitement and purpose into our work. This naturally translates into an end product that we are all immensely proud of.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Passion: It’s no secret that life gets better when you find something you love to do for a living. I encourage people to pursue their passions because success often follows naturally. When you truly enjoy your work, it shines through in the products or services you provide, leading to a snowball effect of success.
Consistency: Being consistent in your work instills confidence in others. Even when it feels like no one is watching or you’re not making immediate progress, it’s crucial to keep working toward your goals. Those small, seemingly insignificant steps you take become immeasurable when you look back over time.
Fun: It’s important not to take life too seriously and to find enjoyment in whatever you’re doing. There will undoubtedly be days when you feel like giving up, but ultimately, it’s about striking a balance between hard work and having fun.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
The ideal client doesn’t fit into any specific mold. Typically, it’s someone who already appreciates our work and has confidence in our abilities, allowing us the creative freedom to deliver an exceptional experience and end product.
