Meet Birdies In The Outfield

We were lucky to catch up with Birdies In The Outfield recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Birdies in, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Firstly, Brandon and Jomel strongly believe their purpose in life will never be fulfilled. Their desire to give back to the community and to create and ever lasting change in both the worlds of golf and social media grows with the ability to affect more change.

Eight months ago, in a small house in San Diego County, Brandon and Jomel decided to embark on a social media content creating journey to inspire others to showcase their true selves. Often times social media is a place for perfection: the perfect shot, the perfect couple, the perfect golfer, well Brandon and Jomel sought out to change that. They believed they had a great combination of personalities to steadfast a social media page while remaining true to theirselves. So with their long lasting friendship, ability to play off one another and a desire to be one of the first minority duos in social media, they created Birdies in The Outfield.

Now, with an aggressive social media approach that aims to give back to the community by creating partnerships, being active in the community and providing giveaways, Birdies in The Outfield has amassed over 2,000 followers. Although Brandon and Jomel are deeply moved by the following, their purpose hasn’t changed, but the desire to affect more change has grown.

Brandon and Jomel have realized the positive effect their content and community outreach has made in the recent months and they are striving to do more. From providing giveaways that include free rounds of golf, hundreds of dollars worth of golfing equipment and fundraising for charity golf events, Brandon and Jomel are always looking to giveback first.

The ultimate purpose of Birdies in The Outfield is to leave an ever lasting change in the worlds of golf and social media. As the following and ability to alter the degree of change happens for Birdies in The Outfield, so will Brandon and Jomel’s purpose.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Birdies in The Outfield is an ever changing idea. It was first started as an outlet to creativity by two friends who loved golfing and had storage on their iPhones. The first few months Brandon and Jomel aimed to create relationships and strived to infiltrate a heavily saturated social media market as two minorities. The following was slow and steady, but as the audience realized Brandon and Jomel were showcasing who they truly are, things began to pick up.

Eight months later and Birdies in The Outfield is now partnering and providing content for brands such as Kingsmen Golf, Bomb Tech, Astral Putters, Legato Golf and Caddy Daddy. What Brandon and Jomel love most about the partnerships they’ve created with these companies is their willingness to give back. Not once has Brandon and Jomel partnered with a company without first agreeing to provide a giveaway to the community and that is something Birdies in The Outfield prides themselves on.

Another area where Birdies in The Outfield prides themselves on, is the camaraderie between male and female golfers. Far too many times you witness an uncomfortable video of a male interacting with a female on the golf course and frankly, it’s unsettling for Brandon and Jomel. Brandon has a ten month old daughter and Jomel has a sister who is ten years younger, so ensuring the game of golf is a safe place for women everywhere is an extreme priority for Birdies in The Outfield.

That is why Brandon and Jomel desire to be one of the first male content creating duos who aim to better the game of golf for women. With that, Brandon and Jomel are providing a women only giveaway. This giveaway will include a customized Birdies in The Outfield Astral Putter valued at over $500.00. Stay tuned for more giveaway details and if you don’t win this one, Brandon and Jomel promise it won’t be the last!!

As for the future of Birdies in The Outfield, Brandon and Jomel are looking to monetize the business through their “Outside the Tee Box” thinking and marketing creativity. Although monetization is a goal, it is not the main priority for Brandon and Jomel as giving back will always remain at the forefront. With that said, if you have any marketing needs, Birdies in The Outfield are your Marketing Muses of the West.

Brandon and Jomel create an idea, produce the idea, edit and post the content between the two of them. Brandon and Jomel’s creativity and content are inspired by nostalgic references and have little to no inspiration from current content you find on the internet. That is something that Brandon and Jomel believe separates them in the world of marketing.

In closing, Brandon and Jomel are always looking for different ways to give back and they desire to be involved in any capacity with positive community outreach, so if you, or someone you know, has an opportunity where Birdies in The Outfield can be of your service, please don’t hesitate to reach out. There is no opportunity too big, or too small for Brandon and Jomel, and every inquiry will be seriously considered.

Brandon and Jomel love meeting new people, so don’t hesitate to comment or reach out to say Hello.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Being so new in the industry, Birdies in The Outfield is a continuous, rapidly evolving business venture for Brandon and Jomel. Brandon and Jomel didn’t have a specific end goal in sight, they had no prior experience in the business, nor online worlds and simply decided to start Birdies in The Outfield with their personalities and a desire for change. Looking back, Brandon and Jomel believe they have excelled in being themselves, succeeded after a battle with pre-conceptions and are striving after a structural reconfiguration.

That being said, Birdies in The Outfield has been an absolute roller coaster. Brandon and Jomel will be the first to admit that, but it’s not something they’re ashamed of. With no prior experience in the online world and with only the purest of intentions to give back, Brandon and Jomel weren’t necessarily structurally ready to have the following they have, but that was never the mission. The Birdies in The Outfield mission was, and always will be, to emphasis camaraderie and to spread love, passion, acceptance and joy in the game of golf.

If they could, Brandon and Jomel would go back and change to being more structurally organized from the start. They would change this simply due to the belief they could be implementing bigger change and might have the ability to give back more at this point had they been structurally sound from the beginning, but you live and you learn.

A skill Brandon and Jomel believe is vital to the long lasting heart beat of a business is overcoming preconceptions. Through Birdies in The Outfield, Brandon and Jomel have learned to rid their actions of preconceived results, not without struggle though. This has been one of the hardest skills to learn over their eight months of existence. In Brandon and Jomel’s opinion, society does a great job of subconsciously leading you to believe you shouldn’t act a certain way, ask a certain thing, or acquire certain things based off the person you are and that’s not the Birdies in The Outfield way, at least not anymore.

After countless “Yes” responses to outlandish questions and wild content ideas, Brandon and Jomel have learned that preconceived ideas are a waste of time and a special opportunity is only a question away. Treating people with respect and being clear on their desires has gotten Brandon and Jomel to places they never thought they’d be. If you can develop, and master, the combination of not caring what others think and being able to rid yourself of preconceptions, it will be a much easier road to get your business to where you want it to be.

This brings us to the skillset Brandon and Jomel believe has been the foundation to their early towering success at this point with Birdies in The Outfield, and that is being themselves. Although social media is a unique platform and much of Brandon and Jomel’s success relies on their ability to keep an audience entertained, that has never changed their personalities and the scope of their content. Brandon and Jomel post things that entertain them with the hope that the audience feels the enjoyment radiating through their screens.

Brandon and Jomel believe staying true to themselves is the most important business venture and it’s the trait that will take you the furthest. Whether it’s singing a song they have no business singing or wearing something they have no business wearing, if Brandon and Jomel think it’s funny and there is a possibility it may entertain others, they are going to create the content. Brandon and Jomel realize every piece of content they create may not be for everyone, but that’s ok, “Wait until tomorrow” they say…

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Brandon and Jomel love collaborating with other creative minds, content creators and simply those who like to have a good time and want to connect within their community. Whether it’s to help promote your business, for a charity, or you would like to highlight a bright spot in the community, Brandon and Jomel want to know about it. Brandon and Jomel believe it’s essential to Birdies in The Outfield to collaborate with others and they deeply appreciate being approached with any considerations.

Although Birdies in The Outfield is a golf forward page, inspiring others is what motivates Brandon and Jomel to create their style of content, it’s them. So if you believe Birdies in The Outfield can help you through the minds of Brandon and Jomel: the Marketing Muses of the West, please don’t hesitate to reach out to them via email: birdiesintheoutfield@gmail.com.

Brandon and Jomel ask that if you are wanting to partner, collaborate or desire to work with them in any capacity, please be willing to giveback to the community in some manner as it is one of their requirements.

With that said, if you have an idea, Brandon and Jomel say “Let’s get to work!”
