Blair , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
For many years of my adult life, I was searching for my “purpose.” I looked for it in work, in relationships, in motherhood—anywhere outside of myself where I thought it might be waiting.
Even after building a meaningful career in philanthropy, where you might assume purpose would be obvious, something still felt like it was missing.
At the beginning of COVID, something shifted. Instead of trying to figure out my purpose, I started to feel my way into it.
During that time, I began attending Breathwork classes on Zoom. In one particular class, I had a moment where I felt—so clearly in my bones—that I was meant to teach this. It wasn’t something my thinking mind could have predicted. It was something I could only feel.
As I followed those gentle internal nudges that led me to teaching, I discovered it’s where I feel most alive. When I’m guiding Breathwork, my mind quiets and I simply allow whatever needs to come through to come through. In many ways, it feels like I’m meditating while guiding others to do the same.
Through teaching Breathwork and becoming more attuned to energy—both my own and others’—I was naturally led to study Reiki, eventually becoming a Reiki Master. Now I weave Reiki into every Breathwork class I teach, and also offer it as its own practice.
When people ask me how I found my purpose, I usually say that I didn’t think my way into it—I felt my way into it. It came from getting still enough in my mind to listen to what was quietly waiting underneath.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a Breathwork teacher and Reiki Master, I offer in-person private sessions & group classes in Los Angeles, virtual sessions for students worldwide, and an on-demand Breathwork library on my website.
What excites me most is collaborating with the incredible women I’ve met on this journey. Since January, I’ve co-hosted a monthly experience blending Breathwork, Reiki, and crystal bowl sound healing with Kelly Merryman Turner at START UP WELLNESS in Santa Monica. The combination is deeply powerful, and many students describe the classes as life-changing.
I’m always excited to discover new modalities and fellow healers along the way. As a true Libra, I love partnership and believe deeply in the power of collective healing.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
A willingness to quiet the noise and get still.
With today’s constant stream of news and social media, it’s easy to get caught up in other people’s journeys and lose sight of your own. I truly believe we all hold the answers about our path within us, but we have to be willing to quiet the noise in order to hear them. Whether it’s two minutes a day or two hours, find a practice that helps you still your mind—and stick with it. Consistency is key.
Embracing all parts of my story.
When I first left my career in philanthropy, I felt a pull to separate my “professional” background from my new spiritual path. Over time, I realized they were never separate. My corporate experience shaped who I am and ultimately made me a stronger, more grounded healer. My advice is to bring your whole story with you—every chapter has value.
The courage to live a life others may not understand.
Early on, I had to accept that not everyone in my life would understand or approve of the path I chose. And that’s okay. It’s not their job to validate your journey—it’s yours to live it.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
As a Breathwork teacher, my first tool when I feel overwhelmed is coming back to my breath. For me, overwhelm happens when I lose connection to the present moment and get caught in thoughts about the past or future—things I can’t control.
The breath always exists in the present, which is why I see it as the fastest way back to steadiness. It brings you into what you can control.
When I feel overwhelmed, I take three rounds of breath: inhale through the nose, followed by a slow, audible exhale through the mouth. This simple practice helps shift the body from a stress response (“fight or flight”) into a calmer “rest and digest” state, where the body can relax and regulate.
It’s a grounding technique that can be done anywhere, anytime….and I recommend to everyone.
