Meet Blake Jamar

We were lucky to catch up with Blake Jamar recently and have shared our conversation below.

Blake, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I come from a creative community and am always looking for ways to express myself. I had dabbled in collage in the past as a way of curating mostly pictures from magazines. Instagram is a really fun way to connect with a larger audience and find other creators.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I focus on the ways people express themselves through the bumper stickers they put on their car at @hautecar. We spend so much time in the car and I wanted a way to celebrate the wacky and wonderful ways we turn our vehicles into public art.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

It took a while for me to find my niche and I think the best advice I could give is to follow your curiosity because it will encourage you to improve.

Three skills that have helped me: community building, playfulness, and focus.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

I’ve made an effort to be more consistent with posting and sourcing more varied material. I hope this helps me connect with a wider audience.
