We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Blaze Grozzi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Blaze below.
Blaze, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Confidence is always an essential part of everything. Whether that is music, public speaking, relationships, or anything else, confidence really is key. Of course this is something so much easier said than done, but the only way to try it out for the first time… takes a little confidence. Ironic! But in all seriousness, being confident is actually a lot easier than you think. I learned this through my music creation journey, and it’s something I’d love to encourage others with in their journey. Confidence is something other people can feel, they can see it, and they can hear it. Imagine listening to a song of mine on Spotify, and I sound like I don’t even know the words to my own song, you would definitely be able to tell! But the more forward I am about showing my confidence through my recordings, it always works for the better. You can hear it in my voice that I believe what I’m saying, and I genuinely think it’s cool… even if I wrote it! There may be times when it’s a little harder to show confidence, especially with that thing called “life.” But staying cool, calm, and creative can go a long way.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
What I love most about what I do is the singing portion. Tons of great songs that people have written get sent to me, and I have the chance to record some of these amazing songs. It’s such a satisfying feeling watching the song come to life as you record it. The reason I would sing them is solely for pitching reasons, finished songs being sent to labels, publishers, and/or A&R’s. On top of that, I also get to write a lot of these songs. Which really lets me express my creativity, doing so many different genres. Testing the limits is always fun! I have lots of personal music out as well on all platforms, with new songs releasing very soon!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three important skills? What about the other 200? Just kidding! Which actually brings me to my first piece of advice, have fun with it. It’s okay to have high standards, as you should (which is my second piece of advice) and its okay to experiment with different things, but make it joyous. Having the opportunity to do whatever it is you’re doing, is already way cool. Might as well make it enjoyable while you’re along for the ride! Lastly, set goals. Work towards something so you can see the progress being made, It’s quite rewarding!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Collaboration is a creatives biggest tool. I’m always looking to collaborate with like minded people. If you have a song that’s written and needs to be recorded, hit me up. If you have a sweet instrumental and some melodies floating around, but no lyrics, hit me up. Or if you just want to vibe, hit me up. I love refining songs and music, and I love criticism because I never take it personally. Everybody has their own taste, including me. But I’m ALWAYS in it to make the best music possible!
