Meet Bliss Floccare

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bliss Floccare. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Bliss, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

There were many times over the last 6 years where I thought ‘Maybe I should change my style, maybe I should try to be more ‘Southern Bride and Groom’, maybe I should do the Bright and Airy editing.’ But Every time I thought about it, I knew that just wasn’t me. I knew that my unique editing and shooting style would draw in the right people. I knew that being proudly Queer would bring the couples I really wanted to work with to my business.
And guess what? It did.
It’s been hard to stick to what I love, knowing that pandering to a more main stream crowd would undeniably bring in more work. But I also knew that the people I really wanted to create art with were out there. That I was exactly what they were looking for.
And I have built a name and a reputation for myself. The people who are drawn to my work and the person I am are truly the best people I could imagine working with. They are the people who build me up, who assure me of my importance in the Wedding Industry, and who make me feel confident in the path I’ve chosen.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I have been a full time photographer for 6 years (where did the time go?!)
I specialize in weddings, specifically serving the LGBTQ+ community. I also do Boudoir, Small business profiles and intentional family photography.

I love working with Queer couples and families and creating a beautiful space to capture authentic love.
I am currently booking 2025 weddings and Fall 2024 sessions.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I grew up with an artist mother, and I believe that was impactful in my photography journey. I was used to looking for the beauty in spaces and that has led me to have an eye for an impactful photograph.
My father was so confident and humble about his work and I’ve tried to carry that trait with me through my own work. Never being too ‘big’ to learn more and grow.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

My ideal clients are those who are in love, want a documentary apraoch to their wedding day or session, and are drawn to my existing work for their own reasons.
This may sound basic but it’s truly the people I find mesh best with me and my style of work.
And of course, I love working within the Queer community and celebrating Queer Joy.
