Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bo$$ Cohen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
BO$$, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I believe I can overcome anything. In life & in business I have been knocked down more than you can ever imagine. I get back up and FIGHT, FIGHT FIGHT!
From family member sickness & deaths, backstabbing business partners, natural disasters or pandemics such as 9-11, Covid 19, & Hurricanes that knocked my businesses out to all the curve balls life throws at you.
There is no obstacle I can not overcome. I will never accept defeat. I will keep getting up and fighting.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an American Entrepreneur based out of Los Angeles. I work in the Hospitality, Entertainment, Marketing, Sports, & Real Estate industries. I have lived all over America & have done business in over 40 North American Cities. Most recently I took over a Topless Nightclub in San Diego, called Candy Shop. Candy Shop is the most beautiful venue in Southern California. Sadly over the last few years it has not reached its peak potential. An opportunity was presented & after tiresome negotiations, I am the new owner of this amazing Venue!
I plan to bring a brand new Candy Craft Cocktail Menu with candy garnishes, Burlesque Entertainment, Fire Performers, Porn Stars, Playboy Models, Hollywood DJ’s & Performers and theme parties. San Diego is ready for this and I am so excited to bring it!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most impactful qualities, skills & areas of knowledge are:
1- Time Management- A big portion of my success is due to my organization, efficiency & time management. I can typically execute in a day what most can execute in a week.
2- Long Term Relationships- Every relationship I commit to myself, I strive for a long term relationship. Whether it be an employee, business partner, customer, friend, or anyone.
3- Empathy- I learned you need to put yourself in other peoples shoes. Consider how you speak to people, and the actions you commit. Treat the bus boy the same as you would treat the CEO. My path of being a waiter, bartender, promoter, General Manager, Marketing Director, customer, employee, and so many other things have given me the vision to put myself in other peoples shoes, because I have actually been there!
My advice to up and coming entrepreneurs is to be realistic in your expectations and NEVER EVER GIVE UP. Focus on your vision and KEEP FIGHTING!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking to partner and collaborate. Currently in San Diego specifically I am looking for promoters, Uber Drivers, DJ’s, Entertainers, Burlesque performers, Fire performers, Bottle Girls, Bartenders, and anyone who can assist in driving new sales or great entertainment into my new project Candy Shop.
