Meet Boaz Sides

We recently connected with Boaz Sides and have shared our conversation below.

Boaz, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

Mainly from work and/or traveling. While doing these things I can always see forward and be motivated.
I also tried to surround myself with people & environment who can support my journey of being an artist, people that know how to motivate me or even
can give me feedback & critics about the way I create & work..people that I trust.
Over the years I understood that some days can be hard & some easy, the main goal to stay resilience is to be consistent & plan ahead.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My brand that also goes under my name – Boaz, started since I was a very little boy, I remember myself drawing on everything that I could.
Many years after I graduating with a B.Des from the visual communications program at HIT.
The urge to draw and create my art was always bigger than me so not long after I finished my degree I started painting murals on the streets (I didn’t have a studio or enough room at my apartment at the time to do so).
With times go by I developed my own drawing, painting & designing style.

As an artist, I drawn to the imperfect – the errors, the attempts, and the process instead of the final outcome. My works are characterized by deconstructed figures, stains and free drawings, aspires to maintain a visual language which is rough and unfinished and thus unique.
I like the fact my art is always “open” that no matter what I am doing I try to keep it very raw, means that the viewers are encouraged to interpret the works, enter the mind of their creator and wander around as they please.
I like soft lines, I like to explore lines and let them guide the process of drawing.

Over the past 15 years I was specialized my art as original drawings & painting with any size, as murals, as tattoos and as a way to brand other businesses.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

First – curiosity. I am always looking for ways to develop myself as an artist and also as a human being, I like to learn new things, all the time.
Second – hard work! indeed having a talent is important but without being a hard worker I would never get to where I am now.
Third – consistency, art is a long journey, become a professional artist takes time so you have to know and be open to many years of doing what you are doing

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is a client that knows what he or she wants but yet is open to giving artistic freedom. A client that can communicate very well.
I like clients that don’t fall under any kind of trends, that have a good eye for interior or exterior, and clients that don’t look
for the obvious visuals.
Other than that, more chance to work with ideal clients if they got a personal recommendation about my art & work, if they
heard from first hand that I can be a good fit for them – it is a win. this is why I try to give my clients the best treatment I can give, since
this is the best way to get them as future returning clients or make them talk about their experience with you.
