Meet Bob Jacobs

We recently connected with Bob Jacobs and have shared our conversation below.

Bob, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

A respected business leader and author, I built a successful career in the mortgage and financial industries, particularly in time with Brentwood-based Churchill Mortgage. But behind the scenes, I faced a battle that nearly cost me everything.

For years, I struggled with severe depression and anxiety, enduring some of the darkest moments of my life. At my lowest point, he even considered taking my own life. It was only through seeking help, opening up, and taking small steps toward healing that I was able to reclaim my life and find my purpose. Now, I am dedicated to ensuring others know they are not alone.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Beyond his advocacy work, I have spent over 15 years working with Churchill Mortgage, where I serve as director of Affiliate Business and I am a partner in Champion Title Ventures. I am also the author of “Rack ‘Em Up and Win: Tips to Building Successful Business Relationships,” and serves on multiple industry and community boards.

“I’ve spent years building business relationships, but I’ve come to realize that the most important relationship is the one we have with ourselves.” By sharing my journey, I hope to remind people that they are not alone and that small steps can lead to big changes. We all need HOPE – Help one Person Everyday.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Family, Friends, and animals. You need to share how you truly feel with family and friends, even if it hurts you and them. An animal can brighten your day. I just recently purchased anther Lab. I enjoy running with my dog, but my currently Lab, Scotch, is eight years old and slowing down. I realized that for me not to go back into a depression I need to continue running with an animal. By the time my 8 years old dog can no longer be by my side on our run, Marsh will be one and half and ready to run.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

Simple. They were there for me and supported me during my most-darkest moments as I received help. They continue to support me and encourage me.
