We recently connected with Bobbie Jean Demunck and have shared our conversation below.
Bobbie Jean , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience is deeply rooted in the setbacks and challenges I’ve encountered throughout my life. Each hurdle, from childhood to young adulthood, has shaped who I am today. I’ve come to believe that when someone is on the brink of making a significant mark or initiating a substantial change, they often face even greater challenges. However, this has only fortified my spirit. I consistently strive to find the positive in every situation, or at least make an earnest attempt to do so. I have always believed that God will watch over me and protect or guide me through these trials. This faith has been my compass through all trials, allowing me to navigate through them successfully.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Since I can remember, I’ve always been both creative and a hard worker. My entrepreneurial spirit was evident even as a child when I made crafts to sell and babysat to fund my school wardrobe, loving the idea of new outfits each day. Growing up, I navigated through some personal challenges, which I’ve learned to move past by focusing on the future, drawing strength from the creativity and diligence of my parents.
I’ve always been adventurous and outgoing, with a love for travel, exploration, and embracing new experiences. As a proud mother and grandmother to two wonderful grandchildren, I cherish the countless memories from my son’s childhood – from bringing him to work with me, to coaching his sports, to our special times together at toy stores.
My God-given talent, or perhaps what I would call my keen eye, lies in interior design, which I’ve pursued alongside a stint in banking. My venture into real estate was inspired by the encouragement from a good friend and my step-mom, who recognized my potential in this field. There’s something truly fulfilling about walking into a home and envisioning its potential, seeing the joy it brings to families as they grow and make memories.
I’ve been fortunate to build meaningful relationships with clients, whom I consider part of my extended family. My gratitude extends to all the families I’ve had the privilege to assist. This year, I’m excited to launch another venture related to real estate – an estate sales business aimed at helping individuals downsize, transition into assisted living, or simply manage their belongings.
Additionally, 2025 marks the realization of a childhood dream with the establishment of a nonprofit organization. This initiative, which I’ve envisioned since high school, will focus on supporting local people in need, and I’m eager to bring this vision to life with enthusiasm and numerous innovative ideas.
I look forward to sharing this journey, growing my businesses, and making a positive impact in our community.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The Power of Perseverance:
I firmly believe that every “no” you encounter brings you closer to a “yes.” If you never ask, you’ll never know. Life is a series of doors; when one closes, another opens. The key is to never give up.
Accountability and Self-Improvement:
Hold yourself accountable because no one else will do it for you. I’ve always been in competition with myself, striving each day to be better than I was the day before. This relentless pursuit of personal growth has been my driving force.
The Art of Selling:
I’ve been blessed with the skill to sell anything I put my mind to, but that’s not just about sales—it’s about selling your vision, your ideas, and most importantly, yourself.
My Advice to You:
Never let yourself down. Keep pushing forward, no matter how many times you’re told “no.” Keep going, keep going. Remember, each rejection is just a stepping stone towards your success. Embrace the journey, learn from every experience, and never stop believing in your potential. Your perseverance will lead you to opportunities that are uniquely yours.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
