We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bobby Neptune . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bobby below.
Bobby, so glad you were able to set aside some time for us today. We’ve always admired not just your journey and success, but also the seemingly high levels of self-discipline that you seem to have mastered and so maybe we can start by chatting about how you developed it or where it comes from?
My self Discipline comes from my mental and my heart. I know that I’n order to achieve my goals I need to be in a very calm mental space. Creating an environment that my creativity can thrive in is most important to me. Eliminating most distractions by understanding what I want in the long run aids in my discipline. It’s nothing for me to turn off my phone go into the lab and “lock in
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a cinematographer I film events and my own creations. Filming always allows me to create something people can feel making content so engaging that it feels like you’re actually there. My cinematic services are geared towards clients im working with to achieve the best editing and experience as possible or if it’s my work. It’s dedicated to my creativity and ability to convey it in the most exciting way possible
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Attending film school is very important to my development a cinematographer. I’m taught the technical aspects of camera work lighting and how to take the most effective shots.
Being a writer I’m able to turn my thoughts into reality along with my cinematic skills I can bring that vision to the screen. There’s always an idea floating around in my
Brain. Some days I use just to fill a page up with ideas film some B roll
Just for fun.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My mother always taught me to strive for excellence. My father instilled the work ethic. “If you are blessed enough to open your eyes then you can attack the day with no remorse, and with purpose”. I lost my parents a few years ago but the lessons they taught me grow everyday.
