We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Bogdan Laurentiu a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Bogdan, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from my gratitude for the opportunities I’ve found in the U.S. As a legal immigrant, I’ve seen how hard work and determination can lead to growth. I believe in America’s core values—freedom, opportunity, and the pursuit of happiness—and they fuel my hope for the future. Despite challenges, I remain confident because I believe we have the ability to grow and thrive, both as individuals and as a nation. I’ve experienced firsthand the opportunities America offers, ones that weren’t available to me in my home country. The belief that anyone, regardless of background, can achieve their dreams through hard work continues to inspire me.
I find optimism in the resilience of the American people. Throughout history, this country has faced and overcome challenges, showing incredible adaptability and strength. This gives me confidence in our future. Even when we disagree, open dialogue fosters progress, which is at the heart of the American Dream. My optimism also comes from my own experiences with perseverance. Success isn’t easy, but America celebrates hard work and the drive to overcome adversity. Every setback has been an opportunity to grow, and that’s part of the American spirit.
Lastly, I’m optimistic because I’ve seen many people—immigrants, entrepreneurs, families—who come to this country with a dream and the chance to make it real. America’s strength lies in its people—determined, and united in the pursuit of freedom, opportunity, and prosperity for all who are willing to work for it.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Bogdan, and I’m proud to call the United States my home. I moved here in 2011, right after college, and immediately fell in love with this incredible country. Over the years, I lived in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Kentucky, but something was always missing. In January 2024, I moved to Texas, and my life changed in ways I’ll be forever grateful for.
I became a conservative commentator, content creator, and public speaker—roles I never imagined for myself. Around 2015, I began noticing troubling trends in American politics, especially the prioritization of others over Americans. As an immigrant from Europe, where such priorities were the norm, I felt compelled to speak out. So, I turned to social media to share my views—and here I am today.
Outside of politics, you’ll often find me on horseback or at western events. I promised myself that once I moved to Texas, I would improve my riding skills. Thanks to my social media presence, many doors opened for me in the western world, leading me to start training in reining performance horses. There’s something uniquely special about riding—it’s just you, the horse, and God.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey, I believe the three most impactful qualities that helped me are perseverance, adaptability, and a willingness to speak up for what I believe in. Each of these has played a crucial role in my personal and professional growth, and I’d recommend focusing on them if you’re early in your own journey.
Perseverance will help you any time life feels like an uphill battle. There were many times when I faced setbacks or felt out of place, but I kept pushing forward. The ability to keep going, even when the path isn’t clear, is what separates those who succeed from those who give up. So be patient with yourself. Success rarely comes overnight. It’s about taking one step at a time, learning from failures, and using them as stepping stones. Stay focused on your long-term goals, even if the journey is tough.
As an immigrant, adaptability made my move to the U.S. and navigating different states and cultures very easy. It taught me to adapt quickly. Things rarely go as planned, and the ability to adjust to new situations or ideas is crucial. I am a firm believer you need to be open to change to succeed in life. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Embrace new experiences, whether it’s a new job, a new location, or new perspectives. The more adaptable you are, the more you’ll grow.
As a conservative immigrant and political commentator, I didn’t always fit the mainstream mold, but I learned that if you have a strong belief or conviction, it’s worth standing by. There were times when I had to speak out, even when it was uncomfortable. I knew I had to be courageous in sharing my views. Whether I was speaking out on social media, in my community, or in my career, I knew my voice matters. Speaking up however, must go hand in hand with the ability to listen as well, and stay open to dialogue. It’s only through conversation that growth and understanding happen.
For those starting their journey, my advice is simple: Stay true to yourself, keep learning, and never underestimate the power of persistence. Focus on developing these qualities, and they’ll guide you through the challenges ahead.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always on the lookout for opportunities to collaborate with like-minded individuals who share my conservative values and/or immigrant experience. Whether you’re a fellow immigrant, a social media creator, a political advocate, or anyone who aligns with my goals and passions, I believe that together we can create impactful change. I’m eager to connect with people who are dedicated to promoting the values that matter most to us and who are passionate about fostering a strong, united community.
