Meet Bonnie Casamassima

We recently connected with Bonnie Casamassima and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Bonnie, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Honestly, I didn’t “find” my purpose all at once—it kind of finds me, bit by bit. My job is to listen, over and over again, to the ever-unfolding intuitive nudges.

I’d spent over a decade in the corporate and academic worlds within research, design and Environmental Psychology, and while I was passionate about what I did, something felt a little off.

When my intuition started opening up in big ways—such as receiving clear visual pictures during meditation that I could also feel in my body—it honestly scared the crap out of me at first. Yes, when I paused my over active analytical mind and breathed into my body I felt this overwhelming sense of love wash over my entire being. It was so powerful. It was so beautiful. I now know these experiences as clairvoyancy and clairsentience intuitive abilities, but at the time my logical, research-trained brain didn’t quite know what to do with it at first. But I stayed curious, met incredible mentors and kept following what felt aligned to me intuitively.

I found myself at this cross-roads, “was I a highly sensitive intuitive medium or was I a researcher?” The answer was a loud “YES!” to both. So I led a review-board approved research project where I interviewed over 50 highly intuitive people around the world on their journey connecting with their intuition.

The research findings created a major turning point for me. What we heard over and over again was that the more people connected with their intuition the more they had clarity, joy, and alignment in their lives. They share they were stronger leaders, better parents and more embodied into their authentic self. It was this FULL BODY YES! This was something I could support others in too. That’s when Intuitive By Nature in the version of today was born. It’s a space where we get to support people in reconnecting with their own powerful inner wisdom AND we get to do that playfully, research-backed, and likely a few bubble machines too!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Hi, I’m Bonnie Casamassima, founder of Intuitive By Nature. I support people in reconnecting with their inner wisdom through intuition research, immersive experiences, and one-on-one support. What lights me up most is helping folks realize their intuition isn’t something “woo”—it’s real, research-supported, a deeply powerful life guide, and already within us all. Our job is to tune into it.

A key element of Intuitive By Nature is helping us remember our sacred connection with nature—the way the natural world reflects, grounds, and amplifies our intuition. Nature is not separate from us; it’s a mirror, a teacher, and a partner in remembering who we truly are.

My work blends a decade of research experience in academia and the corporate world with deep intuitive practice. I’ve interviewed over 50 intuitive people around the world, and their stories continue to inspire everything we offer—from private sessions to our group programs. For example, we host SPARK!—a playful, morning experience where mindfulness and intuitive connection meets a disco dance party. It’s all about creating community within ourselves, our intuition, and with each other. We’re also rolling out a mini self-paced course to help you reconnect with your intuition in collaboration with the sacred wisdom of nature anytime.

Whether through workshops, mentorship, or joyful community events, my goal is to make intuition feel natural, joyful, grounded, and empowering.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking at my journey so far, the three most impactful things in my work and life are: curiosity, reconnecting with my sacred relationship with nature, and trusting my intuition while prioritizing deep inner-healing work—especially around beliefs.

Curiosity is what keeps me open—it allows me to explore even when I don’t have all the answers. Rebuilding and deepening my relationship with nature has been profoundly healing. It reminds me of the intelligence woven through all living things, and how deeply we’re supported when we slow down enough to notice. Nature is so deeply wise and helps keeps me grounded, attuned, and connected to something greater than myself.

Trusting my intuition is something I continue to practice daily. Coming from a research and academic background, I used to rely heavily on logic, but over time I’ve learned to really listen to those quieter, inner nudges. And just as importantly, I prioritize the inner work—getting curious about what beliefs are truly mine and which ones I may have picked up from my environment. I’m always in the process of noticing and gently unlearning the patterns and limiting beliefs that no longer serve me.

It’s very much an ongoing journey. I’m always learning, softening, expanding, and trying to surrender more and more. I LOVE IT. Being in community with others who are also dreaming big and doing this inner work makes a huge difference—it reminds me I’m not alone, and it gives me the courage to keep going.

For anyone in their journey, I’d say: start with curiosity. Let yourself explore what draws you in, even if it doesn’t “make sense” yet. Begin noticing how your intuition speaks to you—through your body, emotions, or quiet knowing—and practice listening without pressure. Be kind with yourself as you question old beliefs, and trust that your path is unfolding in its own wise way, moment by moment.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

One of the most impactful books in my journey has been The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks, especially for the way it affirms that we are truly unlimited in our capacity for expansion. That concept—that we’re meant to grow into more joy, love, creativity, and success, and that there’s no real ceiling to what we can hold—deeply resonated with me.

What challenged and inspired me most was his idea of the “Upper Limit Problem”—this internal threshold we all carry that can cause us to unconsciously sabotage or pull back when things start going really well. Seeing that pattern in myself was eye-opening. But even more powerful was the visual of growth as an upward spiral. That idea—that even when familiar doubts or fears come back around, I’m meeting them from a higher level of awareness—has become a daily practice for me. The Big Leap gave me both a language and a permission slip to keep expanding beyond what I thought was possible.
