Meet Brad Debeer

We were lucky to catch up with Brad Debeer recently and have shared our conversation below.

Brad, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I tend to overcome imposter syndrome on a somewhat daily basis. Being a young doctor, I am constantly faced with patients older than me, often times as old or older than my parents. Delivering pupil speaking or medical conference speaking, along with care suggestions and treatments plans for people with kids older than me, or have serious life-altering injuries has been a large friction point of imposter syndrome. Why me? Why do you trust me with this problem? And honestly, most of the time they do, they’ve done their research, they’ve done their comparisons to other clinics and they chose Axon.

Constantly looking for the next updates in science, looking to challenge my own thought processes, and collaborating with co-workers and colleagues has allowed us to gain the lead as the most comprehensive functional neurological clinic in the country. Sometimes just saying that gives me imposter syndrome, but knowing it to be true from countless interactions with company reps in the industry say “I’ve never seen a clinic like this, ever” or “this is the coolest most comprehensive clinic I have ever worked with in the last 20+years”

Knowing you are in the position you are in because of the hard work and effort you put in is a good place to start. Knowing that people have options and they chose you, and chose to continue working with you is a great secondary. Lastly, trusting yourself and believing that you’re delivering your best is so important to having confidence in yourself.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Axon is planning to launch our Brain & Body Recovery Lab in Evergreen starting January 2025!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Positive Personal Ethics

2. Solid Work Ethic and sacrifice of personal life and time (stop playing a game of “work/life” balance- it’s not 50/50 its a balance of what is most important to you. Not thinking of work to sit on the couch is not productive. Working a little harder to propel your business/brand/life is always worth it, and certainly part of the “balance”

3. Trust yourself, and value your uniqueness – don’t follow or try to be like someone/something else

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My family and friends – there is nothing more important than your community.
