We recently connected with Brad Eickhoff and have shared our conversation below.
Brad, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose in a hospital room.
As a kid, I spent a lot of time ill with cancer — not the kind of childhood you’d wish for. But every so often, a magician would visit Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. They didn’t just perform tricks; they transformed the space. For a few minutes, the IVs and monitors faded into the background, and I was somewhere else — somewhere joyful, mysterious, and full of possibility.
That feeling stuck with me. Magic became more than entertainment — it was something I could do, something I could share, and something that made me feel alive. I started learning tricks by reading magic books, then performing, and eventually building entire experiences around that same spark of wonder I felt as a child.
Now, whether I’m designing a show or designing a routine, I’m chasing that same feeling — and giving it to others. My purpose is to create moments that lift people out of the ordinary and remind them that joy, surprise, and connection are always possible.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I create magic that’s meant to be shared — whether you’re six or sixty, at a birthday party, a festival, or a corporate event. My performances are designed to surprise, delight, and spark genuine joy. They blend classic sleight-of-hand with modern spectacle, but what truly makes them special is the energy in the room: the laughter, the wide eyes, the moment someone turns to their friend and says, “Did you see that?!”
Magic, for me, isn’t just about tricks — it’s about connection. It’s about creating a space where people can let go, have fun, and experience something together. I love crafting shows that are interactive, inclusive, and full of personality. Whether I’m pulling silks from thin air or turning everyday objects into something extraordinary, I aim to make every moment feel personal and unforgettable. It’s not just entertainment — it’s a shared experience that leaves people smiling long after the final reveal.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Brad Eickhoff — On the Three Most Impactful Qualities in His Journey
Looking back, three qualities have shaped my journey more than anything else: curiosity, adaptability, and storytelling.
Curiosity was the spark. As a kid in the hospital, I didn’t just watch magicians — I studied them. I wanted to know how the tricks worked, yes, but more importantly, how they made people feel. That hunger to understand and explore led me to magic, design, branding, and eventually building entire immersive experiences.
Adaptability kept me going. Whether it was pivoting a show for a different audience, redesigning a flyer to better connect with guests, or rethinking a magic routine to suit a new theme — I learned that being flexible isn’t a weakness, it’s a superpower. The ability to listen, adjust, and refine is what turns good ideas into unforgettable ones.
Storytelling is the glue. Magic isn’t just about illusions — it’s about narrative, emotion, and connection. That same principle guides everything I do, from show scripts to packaging design. When your brand or performance tells a story, people don’t just watch — they remember.
Advice for those starting out?
Stay curious. Ask questions, try new things, and never stop learning — even the smallest detail can unlock something big.
Embrace feedback. Don’t be afraid to revise, rework, or start fresh. Growth lives in iteration.
Tell your story. Whether you’re performing, designing, or building a business — make it personal, make it meaningful, and make it yours.
Magic isn’t just what you do — it’s how you make people feel. That’s the real journey.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is someone who’s open to wonder — someone who doesn’t just want a show, but an experience. They’re curious, imaginative, and excited to explore creative ideas that go beyond the expected.
Whether they’re planning a party, a community event, or a branded corporate gathering, they’re not afraid to say, “What if we made this magical?” They value storytelling, visual flair, and the kind of joyful details that make guests light up and smile.
I work best with clients who trust the creative process and enjoy collaboration. They’re not looking for cookie-cutter entertainment; they want something memorable, something that feels alive. If they’re willing to dream big, laugh loud, and lean into the magic — we’re going to create something truly special together.
