Meet Brad Kugler

We were lucky to catch up with Brad Kugler recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brad, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
The easiest way to build self-confidence is making more correct decisions than wrong decisions over time. More right than wrong builds a self-confidence based on real long term results and not some bravado or machismo. People respect what you have done, how you treat people, and the results you are consistently achieving. That respect also builds self-confidence. Another aspect of self-confidence is actually humility; over the top displays of self-confidence work on the short term if you are a convincing, charismatic person, but if it can’t be backed up with actual consistent results, it backfires on you and now you’re thought of as a braggard or joker.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
DirectMail2.0 disrupts traditional direct mail. By integrating over 15 different digital technologies, we are able to report, enhance and lift direct mail response rates by over 50% in most cases. Having managed over 60,000 direct mail marketing campaigns, we know what works and what doesn’t. The same way technology has changed how we do business, it changes the way we market. We can now track and report in real-time what was once untrackable and not reportable. We know when that mail reaches a house, we can deliver digital ads to the person receiving the mail, we know when they visit that place of business or when they call or visit the website they’ve been directed to by the direct mail. What was once old is new again with today’s cutting edge technology! We plan to soon launch DM20.ai. This industry-first predictive analytics platform will improve omnichannel marketing results through machine learning.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Persistence, Resilience, Communication Skills. With those, you can accomplish almost anything. You can sell, you can problem solve, you can suffer through failures and get yourself back up to try again after many failures. The only failure is when you give up, until then you haven’t failed.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
ABL, always be learning! Never assume you are all-knowing and have everything under control. That is the quickest way to the bottom. Know your own weaknesses, find people who are competent in those areas and get them on your team. Be vigilant of other ideas and alternate ways to get something done. But at the same time, don’t get analysis paralysis from all the available data. Be able to make decisions quickly and confidently and most of all make sure you are RIGHT more often than you are wrong.
