Meet Brandi Johnson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brandi Johnson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandi , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose by deeply opening my heart to Christ & God giving me the vision to help single parent families like myself. Being a single parent can get really hard at times. When I really went through a rough time of raising my daughter, God was the ONLY person I could turn to. I immediately went into deep prayer and asked God, “what is the purpose of me going through this situation?”, so God really showed me my purpose over the years of being a single mother.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am the CEO of Save A Parent And Child Inc., which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization for single parent families. I help single parent families with financial assistance, food, clothing, hygiene items, baby products, education, life guidance, etc. I have hosted many events, like, “Baby & Toddler Bag Giveaway” to help single parent families with baby products, “Turkey Giveaway” for Thanksgiving, “Christmas Giveaway” to help 5 single parents for Christmas & planning many more events. I also published my first journal book to help single parents stay motivated, called “Stay Motivated As A Single Parent”. You can order a copy of the book through Amazon & Barnes & Noble. I’m looking forward to collaborating with many organizations & individuals and also, do many motivational speaking sessions to expand my vision and help others.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Learning the knowledge of starting a nonprofit and changing the lives of many single parents like myself. My advice to those who are early in their journey is to do a lot of research on starting a nonprofit and educate yourself a lot to expand your knowledge.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I’m looking to collaborate with other non-profit organizations that help with single parents, parenting, children, & many other organizations that can relate. They can connect with me through Instagram (@saveaparentandchild), Facebook (Save A Parent And Child Inc.), and Email (saveaparent2020@gmail.com)
