Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brandi Wilkinson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Brandi, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
This question is so simple but yet so packed. In my late (very late) 20’s I’m still wondering if I got it right.

The problem with “finding purpose” is that many of us believe it’s a physical action, seeking a physical answer. Yet, it is the complete opposite. It’s like Sunday dinner, we know what we want and how we want it to taste, and once we taste it- it’s euphoric. Purpose has similar characteristics. It feels a certain way. It taste a certain way, it motivates you in a certain way. Purpose is internal. It’s what makes you feel good!

Using my gifts and talent in the vision of others makes me happy. From my clients, to the set up, to the take down- it’s a sense of comfort. Beyonce’ said it best “looking for something that lives inside me”. I knew I found my purpose when popping a balloon felt like therapy lol.

I am Brandi Wilkinson, CEO of The Balloon Bar and Events, LLC- family owned and operated since 2021.

A Balloon Artist is what I am called. I create unique balloon designs for any event. I enjoy mixing colors, creating figures, and most of all- the reaction on my clients face! Professionally, I see my business expanding in different areas. I have collaborated with over a dozen of artist and looking forward to work with more.

My favorite set ups are Children’s parties. I love watching the parents in excitement as they celebrate their child. After all , that is how I got my start! I decided to set up my daughters first birthday party and here we are, 2 years and 85 set ups later. This is my passion! I hope that the journey I am embarking on as a business owner can pave the way for my children, and their children’s children.

We can be found on Facebook (The Balloon Bar and Events, LLC) and Instagram (Tbb_andevents). In November, The Balloon Bar and Events will celebrate two years of operation. During November all clients will receive 20 percent off of all bookings (client must book in November). We are currently booking events now.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that I believe impacted my journey is Resilience, Pride Adjustment, and Advocating.

YouTube can only teach you so much. You have to perfect your craft by trial and error. I wish I would have known this starting off! It has been plenty of times where I have wanted to give up. But as you are in your journey you have to remember that this is bigger than you. Keep going, Keep Pushing. Someone is watching how you face adversity and how you accept criticism, good or bad.

Pride can be the biggest block in your life. One thing that has helped me as a business owner is knowing that every moment can be teachable. It is possible to learn from mistakes. It’s not the mistake that count, it’s the lesson that’s learned.

Advocate for yourself! Promote yourself! Don’t be ashame of where you are. Even if you have to promote yourself in the grocery store- free promotion is better than no promotion.

The Alchemist!

I read this book in high school. I didn’t interpret the book then like I can today. That’s probably because I hadn’t experience life just yet! The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo is about following the dream given to you. This book also teaches that the journey is way more important than the destination.
