Meet Brandice Pondexter

We were lucky to catch up with Brandice Pondexter recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandice , so excited to have you with us today, particularly to get your insight on a topic that comes up constantly in the community – overcoming creativity blocks. Any thoughts you can share with us?

Overcoming creativity blocks as an entrepreneur in a creative industry is challenging for sure. The number one thing that has helped me is to make sure I am taking active breaks and resting . When you get burnt out and you’re tired it’s hard to function as a human let alone a business owner.

Something else I find helpful is actually getting outside ! You cannot just work, work ,work and think your creativity will remain the same . So for me traveling , trying to restaurants , catching up with friends, hanging out with my kids can actually help me find new inspiration and beat my creativity blocks .

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am licensed esthetician and my primary focus is corrective skincare. I am currently in the process of opening a new location in Ontario California . I am excited to expand my services to a new community and build my clientele .

At this location I have added a new concept called “ the beauty bar” where I offer express beauty services such as lash lifts, spray tans, express lashes , and wellness classes .

I get excited when I think about the vision of my business coming together with the expansion of my service offerings!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think being a risk taker, the ability to see the lesson in situation, and also learning how to pivot have been the most impactful in my journey .
As entrepreneurs we are natural risk takers. So taking the risk while having smart goals and a plan are all apart of the game . Having the courage to have your idea or business come to life and not letting anyone place their doubts or fears onto you is important to remember.
Failing does not mean you are a
Failure . There is a lesson in every mistake. And it’s important to focus on what you learned in each situation and how you can do better the next time .
Lastly you have to learn to pivot in business. What may have worked last year may not work this year . As your business grows so do you .

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am always looking to collaborate with other business owners . I don’t care if you are in the beauty space , or an artist, I love collaborating and creating with others . If you are interested in working with me please reach to me on Instagram at 28 Skincare or send me an email info@28skincare.com
