Meet Brandon Lanard

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brandon Lanard a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Brandon , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

FASHION SAVED MY LIFE. Growing up as the only child in my household I was extroverted, shy and timid. So I felt like I never had a voice or confidence. I realize that I loved clothes & that changed the way I viewed myself & gave me the confidence to live in that space.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a designer, wardrobe stylist & content creator. I am the order of MCKENZIE LUXE which is unisex fashion accessory brand that focuses on handbags. What’s really excited about MCKENZIE LUXE is to see how it compliments the personality of the people that supports us. Our mission is to hold a space for ppl that felt like they didn’t have a voice growing up or felt differently than everyone else. Styling our products to fit who you are just screams LOVE to me and that’s what keeps me creating.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

DETERMINED to explore my dreams unapologetically even if that means the world against me. Staying FOCUSED on those goals and dreams & ACCEPTING who you are to your core.

My advice : if the world was said to end tomorrow… would you be happy with what you have given the world ? If the answer is no… then it’s time to give the world you!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My faith has been very instrumental in my development. When I was at my lowest it was my faith and GOD’s mercy that build me back to life. Also my husband & longtime friends continues to hold spaces for support & motivation.
