Meet Brandon Lovelace

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brandon Lovelace a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

The way I found my purpose was Influenced by my up-bringing and the environment I was raised in. Not seeing success in the rough area of gang-infested South Fulton, Atlanta drove me to not be like my peers and the influences around me. My father was a rolling stone and my mother did the best she could, but experiencing the luxury of having nice clothes and shoes was unfortunately out of the question. I vowed to one day to create not only a brand, but provide hope and style to those who aren’t as fortunate as the majority of the population. As odd as it may sound; My brand today, was built for the young poverty-stricken boy who still resides within me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My main focus as of right now is expanding the brand and creating a community of like-minded individuals who share the same sense of style. My main objective is to create the most unique and neck-breaking pieces of clothing, with the highest quality, at the most affordable rates on the market. What feels most special about my mission is the my ability to not only provide for the less fortunate, but give them a sense of belonging to their peers and boosting their confidence while wearing my garments. In addition to running the brand, I will soon be creating a group where my supporters will be able to buy my products wholesale at an even cheaper rate to generate passive income for themselves as well. I have also created a YouTube channel detailing any brand milestones and product drops as well. The channel name is you guessed it: BSELLSHEAT

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The three skills/qualities that were most impactful on my journey was undoubtedly: patience, understanding and the will to succeed. In any venture, patience is a must-have if you want to achieve success. As cliché as it may sound, Rome wasn’t built in one day and neither was BSELLSHEAT. Not only did I have to be patient with myself and I had to be patient with the process itself. I’ve spent countless late nights questioning what I was doing and how long it would take for my efforts to be recognized on a large scale. Secondly, understanding the current monetary state of my supporters was absolutely mandatory in building my brand. Often times, people may brush off clientele if they aren’t “money-ready” at the time of purchase. I’ve been there and I most definitely understand wanting something and not being able to afford it. I’m always open ears when it comes to offers from any client and 9.5/10 I will work with their budget, even if that means me taking a small loss. Lastly, my will to succeed, no matter the circumstances allowed me and my family to be finally free and allowed BSELLSHEAT to come to life. If you don’t want it bad enough, you don’t want it all. My advice to anyone in their journey stage would be stick to the plan, don’t fix it if it isn’t broke, and keep good company around you so your company stays good.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

As conceited as it may sound, I feel as if I have been most helpful to myself in overcoming challenges. Reason being, I am my own biggest critic and I am constantly improving each and everyday in all areas of my life. I know for a fact I’m hard on myself, but that what drives me to keep growing and keep bettering myself and the brand. The reason for this is because so long as I can envision and think it, I can achieve it. I’ve lived by the motto “If you’re not first, you’re last” since the inception of BSELLSHEAT and it’s paid off greatly. It’s currently and will always be, me vs. me.
