We were lucky to catch up with Brandon Rose recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I have always been a physically tough child, playing all the contact sports possible. But with entrepreneurship, it is much more of a mental resilience game. Every day is different, and there are so many ups and downs. It has definitely not been easy, but what keeps me moving forward and motivated is truly loving what I do. Additionally, working for someone else and helping build their dreams really just does not sit well with me.
I have worked many jobs growing up where you just look at the clock waiting to leave. Life is a short gift and I do not want to be in any situation where I am happy that time has passed.
Even if it is a hard road with many emotions, at least I know I am not just alive, but living. I fear failure more than pain, and that is my main drive to keep growing as an individual physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I started Watch Innovation Straps ( WIS ) a few years ago. We focus on innovating a timeless industry – The luxury watch market. WIS offers a vast variety of watch straps in different sizes, colors, materials, and styles to facilitate the watch wearing experience for horologists around the world.
Ranging from rubber straps, leather straps, nato straps, and more, our goal is to have the most comfortable, stylish, and durable watch bands on the market.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Growing in this journey has been an accumulation of many failures, successes, networking, and opportunities throughout the years. This is not my first rodeo. My first company I started was in 2016, and since then I have created and scaled four businesses.
Through each opportunity I have faced my challenges but ultimately maturated as a person, leader, entrepreneur, and digital marketer.
The three main qualities and skills that have been most applicable to me and my businesses are:
Sales, digital marketing, and resiliency. With starting a businesses, it is very important to wear multiple hats and take things as they come.
Sales is everything. It is important to learn how to sell, know your target audience and fulfill a product or service that fits their pain points. With an increase in online market places, technology, and social media, it is important to learn and understand how customers interact, how the algorithms work, and how to optimize your website and campaigns for conversions.
Lastly is to be resilient. There will always be fires to put out, problems to solve, and hard decisions to be made. As long as you keep executing and moving forward, it decreases your risk of failure.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

WIS Straps is at a pivotal time in our growth that we just started to consider investors – Either equity or debt. We truly can’t keep enough inventory in stock. It is a good problem to have, but our next big mile stone will be replenishing our current inventory, and adding new molds, colors, and styles to our product line.
So we have started those conversations with angel investors and firms and are open to discussing the opportunity with other interested individuals and offices.
We are always open to collaboration and our ambassador program which is just about to pass over 100+ ambassadors worldwide is a strong example of how community is stronger than any individual.
