We were lucky to catch up with Braquelle Murphy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Braquelle , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Both of my parents have always been hard workers. My dad is a police officer and my mom owns her own business. I learned a lot from them growing up. I have always wanted to go into a helping profession. Once I decided to pursue becoming a therapist, my path felt clear and I knew what I needed to do. Nowadays, I focus on slowing down and building my identity outside of my career.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a licensed clinical professional counselor with a fully virtual trauma therapy practice. I offer EMDR therapy, EMDR consulting, and EMDR intensives. My practice is dedicated to making therapy accessible. We are partnered with several non-profits that provide financial assistance for counseling.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think that my ability to seek consultation has not only improved my clinical skills but has also positively impacted my business. I would advise folks early in their career to seek consultation or mentorship. There are people before you who have done it and have done it well. It could be helpful to use your resources.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I would like to collaborate with folks to offer community events. I would also like to connect with other therapists in the field. If you would like to collaborate you can reach out to me by email at Braquelle@dazedtherapy.com
