We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brashauna Winbush. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with BraShauna below.
BraShauna, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
My purpose in life has always been right in front of me, even as a little girl. I’ve always had a caring spirit and a deep desire to help others overcome their obstacles. I was blessed with the ability to empathize and connect with people from all walks of life. Strangers would often open up to me, sharing their deepest pains, and then say, “I don’t know why I just told you all of that.”
After exploring multiple career paths that never really fit, growing older, and strengthening my relationship with God, my purpose became more clear. I realized I was sent here to help others, but not in the ways I had initially been trying. Now I use my platform to bring joy & humor to hard situations, encouraging moms and other women to embrace their journeys, find their strength in their struggles, and keep pushing forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m BraShauna-content Creator, Entrepreneur, and one of the founders of Moms in Motion (MIMS), a growing mom-focused community that provides support, encouragement, and relatable content for women navigating the chaos and beauty of motherhood. I’m also the owner of Queen Culture Creations, a custom t-shirt brand that empowers women and moms to express themselves through bold, empowering statements and relatable designs.
What excites me the most about what I do is creating spaces where women feel seen, heard, and understood. Through Queen Culture Creations, I aim to inspire confidence and self expression, offering designs that speak to motherhood, womanhood, and life’s real moments. In addition to ready-made designs, I specialize in custom creations that help customers bring their vision to life. I launched an updated website on January 1st to make the custom ordering process easier for customers. I’m also working on an investment that will take my t-shirt business to the next level and help tie Queen Culture Creations and Moms in Motion together-bringing more resources tools, and opportunities to the women I serve. My goal is to guide women in embracing their gifts, building confidence, and using their voices whether through content creation, entrepreneurship, or self expression.
I want the world to know that my platform is more than just content-it’s a movement to remind moms that they are not alone and each journey is unique. It’s about finding joy in the chaos, strength in the struggle, and confidence in who they are.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience- Life and entrepreneurship both come with setbacks, and being able to bounce back from failures and disappointments has been crucial. I’ve learned that growth happens in the most hardest moments so I have trained myself to see challenges as opportunities instead of obstacles.
Empathy- Being able to truly listen, relate, and make others feel seen and understood has allowed me to build trust and community, which are the foundations of everything I do.
Adaptability- I’ve learned that I have to be willing to pivot. The idea or plan I have originally can evolve and change when needed and that’s okay.
My advice for others early in their journey working to improve these things:
For resilience I’d say get comfortable with failure. This held me back or along time. Instead of fearing failure look at it as feedback. Reflect on what didn’t work , take it as a lesson, then keep going. Try to surround yourself with positive influences. People who motivate you to keep going.
For empathy I would say listen more than you talk and practice asking questions to be more present in conversations.
For adaptability I would say be open to learning. Invest time into learning new skills and tools like marketing and business strategies. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone because growth comes with experience.
And most importantly give yourself grace. Progress doesn’t happen over night, but every small step you make is going toward something bigger, Stay patient, stay consistent, and don’t be afraid to bet on yourself !
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Over the past 12 months my biggest area of growth has been building confidence in my vision and faith in my purpose. I could not have balanced motherhood, my relationship and business without leaning into my faith and putting my trust in God’s plan.
