Meet Bre Via

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bre Via. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Bre, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

Developing self-esteem and self-confidence is a process that takes time and reflection. Here are some steps that can help:

Set Clear Goals: Break down your work into manageable, achievable goals. When you accomplish these goals, it boosts your sense of competence and reinforces the belief that you’re capable.

Acknowledge Your Strengths: Recognize your unique skills and qualities. Regularly reminding yourself of what you bring to the table can help you trust your abilities and build confidence.

Learn from Mistakes: Rather than seeing mistakes as failures, view them as opportunities for growth. This mindset shift can reduce self-doubt and increase your belief in your ability to overcome challenges.

Seek Feedback: Constructive feedback from others is crucial for growth. It can affirm what you’re doing well and help identify areas for improvement. Receiving positive reinforcement can enhance your self-esteem, while learning from criticism can foster confidence in your ability to improve.

Celebrate Successes: Take time to acknowledge your achievements, no matter how small. Recognizing progress is key to reinforcing your sense of value and accomplishment.

Invest in Personal Development: Continue learning and growing in your field. The more knowledge and skills you acquire, the more confident you’ll become in your ability to handle challenges.

Positive Self-Talk: Replace negative thoughts with more affirming ones. Encourage yourself as you would a colleague or friend, and remember that everyone experiences moments of self-doubt.

Surround Yourself with Supportive People: Being around people who believe in you and encourage you can have a huge impact on your confidence. Supportive peers, mentors, or friends can help uplift your spirits during difficult times.

It’s a gradual process, but the more you actively work on these strategies, the more natural they’ll become in building both your self-esteem and confidence over time.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey have been grit, perseverance, and determination.

Grit has been essential in helping me push through challenges, especially during times when the path ahead seemed uncertain or difficult. It’s the inner strength to keep going, even when faced with obstacles or setbacks and there were many. This quality has helped me maintain focus on my long-term goals, despite short-term challenges.

Perseverance has allowed me to continue forward, even when success didn’t come quickly or easily. There were times when the road seemed long, and progress felt slow, but I’ve learned to embrace those moments as part of the process. Staying committed and consistent in my efforts has been a key to ultimately overcoming hurdles and achieving milestones along the way.

Determination has been my driving force—my unwavering belief that I can and will achieve what I set out to do. It’s about setting clear intentions, staying motivated, and having a steadfast commitment to seeing things through, no matter how tough things get. With determination, I’ve been able to keep my vision in sight and work tirelessly toward it, even when faced with doubts or difficulties.

Together, these qualities have helped me navigate the ups and downs of my journey and continue to push forward with a sense of purpose and resilience.

For those early in their journey, developing or improving on grit, perseverance, and determination can significantly enhance their ability to overcome challenges and stay on track toward their goals. Here’s some advice for cultivating these qualities:

Developing Grit:
Embrace discomfort and challenges. Grit is built when you push through difficult situations, so don’t shy away from hard work or setbacks. View challenges as opportunities to grow rather than as barriers. Strengthening grit means developing the mindset that obstacles are part of the process and not a reason to quit. Reflecting on past challenges and how you overcame them can also help you build mental resilience for future hurdles.

Building Perseverance:
Stay consistent, even when progress is slow. Perseverance isn’t about rushing to the finish line; it’s about maintaining steady effort, even when the results aren’t immediately visible. Set small, achievable goals that keep you moving forward. Celebrate the incremental progress to stay motivated and remind yourself that success often comes through consistent, incremental actions. Also, don’t be afraid to adjust your approach as needed; perseverance is not about stubbornly following the same path, but rather about finding ways to keep going no matter what.

Strengthening Determination:
Clarify your “why” and keep it front and center. Determination thrives when you have a strong, personal reason for why you’re pursuing your goals. Make sure your purpose or vision is clear, and when times get tough, return to that core motivation. Set clear, long-term goals and create a plan that aligns with them. Break down big tasks into manageable steps so that you can track your progress and stay energized. Additionally, surround yourself with supportive people who encourage your determination, helping you stay focused on what matters.

Above all, remember that these qualities are developed through practice. Don’t be discouraged by early struggles or slow progress. Every step you take strengthens your grit, perseverance, and determination, and in time, you’ll find these qualities are essential to your growth and success.
