We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Breana Jackson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Breana below.
Hi Breana, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my mother, who instilled in me the importance of hard work and having goals. I have always been ambitious, goal-oriented, committed and never shy away from challenges or starting completely over if necessary. My vision of my future self being successful in fashion drives me to stay committed and consistent in all that I do; it’s what motivates me to never give up on my dreams.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hi, my name is Breana Jackson, and I am the founder and CEO of Elecci (pronounced E-lee-chi) – a women’s clothing brand that takes inspiration from the latest runway trends. I’m originally from Memphis, Tennessee but I grew up in Houston, Texas. My love for fashion started at a young age, and I have since explored many facets of the industry. Alongside owning my brand, I also work as a backstage model dresser, wardrobe stylist, content creator, creative director, production team member for various fashion shows and so much more.
Earlier this year, I launched Elecci and to my surprise, I fell in love with running my own clothing brand. As part of the launch in April 2023, I decided to host my first-ever fashion show to present my debut collection. Organizing the show proved to be an incredibly exciting and demanding experience, as I had to pull it off all on my own. From finding the perfect venue and recruiting volunteers and models to designing the graphics and styling the looks, I took on every aspect of the production.
After the success of my debut fashion show, I’m thrilled to announce that I will be hosting yet another show this fall with a glitz and glamorous theme. This show will feature my fall and winter collection and serve as a charity event to support the non-profit organization, AVDA (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse). A percentage of the ticket sales will be donated to their cause. The fashion show is scheduled for September 16th, and I’m confident that it will surpass the success of my previous show. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to make a difference and enjoy a night of fashion and philanthropy – get your tickets here.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The fashion industry demands more than three crucial qualities to succeed, but for my personal journey, I find adaptability, creativity, and positivity to be the most impactful.
Adaptability is essential because the fashion industry is constantly evolving. From social media trends to fashion trends, it’s crucial to stay current and keep up with the changes. Creativity is a must-have skill, especially when you’re the creative director of your brand. It’s essential to have a unique perspective to stand out in a competitive industry. Positivity is equally important because running a business is not a smooth ride. There will be good days and bad days, and it’s crucial to have a positive mindset to overcome obstacles and keep moving forward.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When running a business, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. In those moments, I’ve learned to take a step back and prioritize self-care. I might hit the gym for an hour or two, take a long walk with my dog, find a new show to watch, go to the pool, or hang out with friends. These simple activities can do wonders for your mental health.
