Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Breanna Carroll. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Breanna, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
The more and more I talk with and read about those who are successful in business, I find the commonality in facing imposter syndrome. This was definitely prevalent when I was just starting out in my business, and still rears its head from time to time, but I have a new awareness surrounding it.
I see it for what it is; a mindset that is trying to keep me safe and comfortable. When I feel myself growing and expanding in my work, imposter syndrome is typically what follows. I meet these feelings and I talk myself through it. I dance, sing, do yoga, workout, anything to get my energy moving and realign with my mission and what I came here to do!
I am also extremely blessed to have a supportive partner and motivating friends to remind me that I am doing ok!
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I became a certified Massage Therapist in 2016 and hit the ground running. I worked in different sectors of the field and gained invaluable experience. It was from there that I fell in love with Yoga and Sound Healing, or Sound Baths. These three modalities work so synergistically with each other and I was motivated to share them with as many people as I could.
Fast forward to 2020 (yes, that year), I decided to branch out onto my own and begin building my own brand and studio space where I could offer these three amazing services. I began renting out a boutique style space where I am now able to see clients 1:1 and in small groups. I offer massage sessions, private and group sound baths, as well as group and private yoga classes. Along with that, I also offer on-site yoga and sound experiences to various gatherings; such as anniversaries, retreats, bachelorette/bachelor parties, company wellness days, etc.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In terms of growing or evolving in work or business, I first take a look at my personal life. My daily habits, the types of things I am consuming, who I am gravitating towards, and my mental/emotional health. I have found that my work is an extension of my personal life. It is always this direct mirror effect. If I can nourish myself and truly show up for me, I find a sense of ease, clarity, and motivation in my work. Monitoring the seasons of my life is vital for me and the direction of my business.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Recently, I have felt so inspired to collaborate with others and bring some new offerings and ideas to life! I would love to connect with others who are passionate about helping others achieve a state of balance and truthfulness with themselves.
