Meet Breanna Diaz

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Breanna Diaz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Breanna, so glad you were able to set aside some time for us today. We’ve always admired not just your journey and success, but also the seemingly high levels of self-discipline that you seem to have mastered and so maybe we can start by chatting about how you developed it or where it comes from?

My self-discipline comes from knowing that it’s hard to please everyone, so I focus on personal goals and achievements that I can truly appreciate. When you rely on others for motivation, it often comes from a place of their own self-interest. That’s why I take responsibility for pushing myself, celebrating both the small and big wins, and reflecting on how far I’ve come. Seeing the progress I’ve made through my own determination is motivation in itself.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

As the owner of Easy Breezy Plumbing, no two days ever look the same—and that’s one of the things I love most about what I do. Over the past 5 years, I’ve worn just about every hat you can imagine: tracking our financials, entering customer information, securing certifications, and making sure our team keeps learning through continuing education. I keep a close eye on safety and employee policies so we’re always operating within the law, and I decide where our budget goes—especially when it comes to marketing.

Marketing is a big passion of mine, and I handle most of it myself. From running our social media, planning community events, and responding to reviews, to organizing content days and keeping our website fresh and relevant—I love finding new ways to connect with people. I’m also not afraid to roll up my sleeves and get in the field when needed as part of my apprenticeship.

We’ve now been in business for 5 years, and it’s been such a rewarding journey. We’re always coming up with fun promotions and coupons, which you can find on our website, because we believe plumbing services can be professional and reliable while still feeling approachable and customer-friendly. Every challenge and every win has shaped where we are today, and I’m so proud of how far we’ve come.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I think the three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey were self-discipline, the ability to “fake it till you make it,” and learning to truly personalize people—seeing them as individuals I can connect with, rather than competitors I need to beat.

Self-discipline has kept me consistent, even when motivation fades. “Fake it till you make it” has helped me push through uncertainty, showing up with confidence even when I was still learning. And personalizing people—finding common ground and building real relationships—has turned what could have been competition into collaboration and mutual support.

My advice for anyone early in their journey is simple: don’t give up. Think of success like popcorn in the microwave—when you first start to hear the kernels popping, it’s tempting to think you’re done. But if you stop too soon, you’ll miss out on the full result. Sometimes the signs of progress appear before the work is truly finished, and you need to keep the heat going to see the outcome you’ve been working for. Remember, success is often just one step past the point where someone else gave up.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

One book that’s had a big impact on my development is You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. It’s packed with tips and tricks that helped me fake the confidence I needed until it became real—something that’s been key to growing into the business owner and woman I am today.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was realizing that most people don’t have everything as figured out as it may seem. That perspective was freeing. It taught me that instead of getting stuck in comparison or self-doubt, I can focus on problem-solving and finding the answers I need in the moment. That mindset has helped me push through challenges, trust my instincts, and keep moving forward even when I didn’t have all the pieces in place.
