We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Breanna Wise a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Breanna , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from knowing my ‘why.’ I’m building something meaningful for my family and for the women who trust us with their care. There have been seasons that tested me both personally and professionally, but those moments taught me to slow down, listen to my intuition, and lead with integrity. That inner alignment is what keeps me grounded and resilient.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the founder and lead injector at Skin Wise, a medical aesthetics practice rooted in a natural, intentional approach to beauty. What we do goes far beyond treatments—we focus on long-term skin health, education, and results that enhance rather than alter. Our philosophy is that the best work is often the work you don’t notice; it’s subtle, balanced, and tailored to each individual.
What excites me most is helping people feel like the best version of themselves without losing what makes them uniquely them. In an industry that often celebrates extremes, Skin Wise was built to be a calm, curated alternative—where integrity, expertise, and trust come first. Every treatment plan is thoughtful, conservative, and grounded in anatomy and safety, which is something I’m deeply passionate about.
As a brand, Skin Wise is intentionally approachable yet elevated. We want clients to feel educated, seen, and confident in their decisions, not pressured or rushed. That ethos extends to how we operate as a business and how we care for our team and community.
What’s new and exciting is our continued expansion into wellness-forward offerings and membership-based care, allowing clients to prioritize consistency and prevention rather than quick fixes. We’re also focused on scaling thoughtfully—growing our team, refining systems, and stepping into the next chapter of Skin Wise with the same values that built it from day one.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been discernment, consistency, and a willingness to evolve.
Discernment has shaped nearly every major decision I’ve made—from how I practice aesthetics to how I build my team and brand. Learning to trust my instincts, especially when outside noise was loud, helped me stay aligned with my values. For anyone early in their journey, my advice is to slow down decision-making just enough to listen to your intuition and educate yourself deeply. Skill and knowledge sharpen discernment over time.
Consistency is often underrated, but it’s what builds real momentum. Showing up day after day, delivering quality work, and maintaining standards—even when growth felt slow—created trust with clients and stability in the business. My advice is to focus less on quick wins and more on repeatable excellence. Consistency compounds in ways you don’t see immediately.
Finally, a willingness to evolve has been essential. Growth requires letting go of roles, ideas, or systems that once worked but no longer serve you. I’ve had to shift from being the primary doer to becoming a leader and strategist, which isn’t always comfortable. For those starting out, stay curious, invest in learning beyond your technical skill, and give yourself permission to change as your vision expands.
At every stage, the common thread is alignment—when your values, work, and decisions are aligned, growth feels intentional rather than forced

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
I believe it’s far more powerful to go all in on your strengths—while being honest about where support is needed. Early on, I tried to be well-rounded out of necessity, wearing every hat and stretching myself into roles I wasn’t meant to master long-term. That season taught me a lot, but it also showed me that true excellence comes from depth, not dilution.
When I leaned into what I do best—clinical expertise, aesthetic discernment, and vision-driven leadership—everything began to scale more naturally. The business became clearer, the brand more cohesive, and my energy more focused. At the same time, I learned that ignoring weaknesses isn’t the answer; acknowledging them and building systems or teams around them is.
One of the most important shifts for me was realizing that leadership isn’t about being the best at everything—it’s about knowing where you create the most value and protecting that space. As I transitioned from being the sole provider to leading a growing team, letting go of control in certain areas allowed both me and the business to grow in healthier ways.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to master your core strength first. Build credibility and confidence there. Then, instead of forcing yourself to become well-rounded, invest in education, mentorship, or people who complement you. That balance—owning your strengths while strategically supporting your gaps—is where sustainable growth happens.
